Rainy Weather Impacts Landscape Activity

Well, you can put it off but you can't keep it away, this is the Northwest. Our long dry end of summer is quickly becoming a thing of the past as the rain has returned and the forecast for this week is for up to 2 inches of rain. http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/train-of-storms-to-hit-northwe/36043447

We have received many calls over the past few weeks as customers have received their most recent water bills. As the graph above shows, since August first, irrigation need due to weather has doubled since 2013. This unfortunately translates to double irrigation water bill for the same period. Unfortunate news but a reality of the abnormal late summer and early fall.

With the wet weather we also return to challenging maintenance operations. Although we are heading to winter, the warm weather has kept grass growing, requiring continued mowing. The heavy rain saturates the soil and makes mowing difficult and at times impossible. We are monitoring weather and will mow when weather allows. We will be on varied schedule to accomplish this and occasionally send our crews home on wet days to instead work later in the week or over the weekend as weather allows. We are sorry to change our schedule but do not want to damage your landscape with our activity.
