Irrigation Audits Performed by Interns

Every spring as we activate your irrigation system, we clean and adjust your sprinklers as well as repair broken components. Despite this comprehensive spring service, we will quickly be reminded that most irrigation systems have flaws that have resulted in poor coverage, wet and dry spots, and poor irrigation efficiency. Whether it is due to poor initial system installation or often times changes to the landscape as it matures, these issues will show up every summer, again and again, usually getting worse as the landscape ages.

We try to evaluate the systems we manage during the summer season to make recommendations to our customers for projects to improve their systems, improving consistency and often times saving water. A well balanced system will improve the looks of a property during the summer and likely save you money in the long run.

To help facilitate the process of providing comprehensive analysis of our clients irrigation systems, we have hired summer interns to assist in this analysis. We have always had interns from horticulture programs including Oregon State, BYU and Colorado State, but this year we created 3 intern positions to specifically work on irrigation system analysis. We are always busiest this time of year and this new internship program will provide more comprehensive improvement projects. You will see the benefits from this work as a part of your 2015 budget proposal. Stay tuned.
