Winter Damaged Shrubs Should be Rejuvenated

It was a tough winter for several marginally hardy shrubs. Escallonia and Virbinum Spring Bouquet as well as a few other varieties were damaged by the extreme cold in December. To varying degrees, they defoliated and some have died back. The good news is that most are not dead. The bad news is that they will grow back from the oldest largest wood and need cut back or will look dead all season.

We will be contacting each of you to discuss our plan for your specific property. Sites with significant shrugs needing this rejuvenation pruning may require additional expense to cover this added labor and disposal cost.

As this is a not so common occurrence, we may even propose to you to consider replacing these hedges to avoid this unsightly event in the future as it will happen again.

Evergreen Shrubs Will Drop Leaves This Spring

In addition, many evergreen shrubs will shed more than normal leaves this spring. It will be a messy spring following a severe winter. We still do our best to keep your site clean but it will be messier than normal.
