Bullhead Advisory

The River Cities United Way (RCUW) provides financial help to a wide range of service organizations and programs in the Tri-State area. Donations can come from payroll deductions, direct to the RCUW on a regular basis or with a one-time donation. Donors choose where their money is to go, so Bullhead City donations can stay in Bullhead City, Laughlin donations can stay in Laughlin, Kingman donations can stay in Kingman and Lake Havasu City donations can stay in Lake Havasu City. That's why I joined the River City United Way's Advisory Committee. Because donors make the decision as to which community receives their donation, I wanted to lend a hand and joined the RCUW Advisory Committee. So many programs need financial assistance and the RCUW is here to help them. RCUW does not provide direct services. Those days are behind us. Many other organizations do provide direct services for such needs as emergency housing assistance, medical costs and legal services and that's where the RCUW can help. A payroll donation to the River Cities United Way with its lean administrative costs can funnel 92% of it's funds into those community services.

That's why I joined the River Cities United Way.  I want to help.  Will you?  Ask your employer to set you up with an automatic payroll deduction in any amount you choose and direct your donation to the community of your choice.  If your employer doesn't currently offer payroll deductions, ask them to contact the River Cities United Way and set it up.

Thank you for all you do for your community. And, thank you for helping your River Cities United Way.

by Cornerstone Mission Project

I just wanted to send you a letter of gratitude from Cornerstone Mission. Thank you for your very generous donation this past year. Because of your support, we were able to provide 21,239 meals served from the soup kitchen at dinner; 2,511 showers provided to non-residents; 1,311 sets of clothing; 598 pairs of shoes; 170 sets of bedding; 1,773 hygiene packets; and 675 food boxes.  Between both shelters (Cornerstone Mission and Diana's Faith House) you helped us provide just over 9,000 bed nights. That means 24 people (men, women and children) had a roof over their heads and a cozy bed to sleep in instead of sleeping in a car or on the street.

From the numbers you can see that your support has helped thousands of people in Kingman.  You have made a difference in the lives of those in need and we thank you for working with us, for providing Hope and for your kindness.

TATTouch-A-Truck 2014 a Success
by Robert Starkey

April 5th marked a day filled with family fun - from getting into the front seats and touring different vehicles from private and city services, to those taking a sledge hammer of appropriate size to "smash a car"  donated by Camel Towing, to our resurrected "Diamond Dig".

River Cities United Way is creating an post event promotional video to highlight the day's activities and attendees of all ages.

We once again thank our Touch-A-Truck Sponsors:
American Medical Response (AMR), Campbell Redi-Mix, Suddenlink, Harley-Davidson, and Friends of the Fair.

Beachcomber_RVRCUW Thanks Beachcomber RV

River Cities United Way received a $900 donation from proceeds of the Beachcomber RV Activity Fund.  These funds are raised through activities and functions held by the RV Parks' winter visitors, who then distribute these funds into our local community.

By request of Beachcomber RV, these funds will be applied to the "Kids Bright & Healthy" program, which has helped over 950 students in the areas of medical, dental, and vision since the program started in 2003.

River Cities United Way would like to thank Beachcomber RV for their generous donation and support of the Lake Havasu City community.

Give.
The workplace campaign is the easiest and most powerful way to invest in our communities. You can direct your contribution to one of the action areas of Education, Income and Health,or choose all three. As always, we will also process a restricted contribution to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations.

Advocate.
You can make change happen with your voice. Tell your friends. Write a letter to the editor. United Way needs people who are passionate about their communities to make some noise. Access our website so you can stay on in the know about advocacy opportunities.

Volunteer.
You can advance the common good of your community when you volunteer.  Join hands; lend your muscle. Give an hour; give a Saturday. Think of WE before ME. Reach out a hand to one and influence the condition of all. Contact us for volunteer opportunities.
