Limited SNF Visitation Opens Up

Skilled Nursing Families,
We would like to thank you once again for your patience in dealing with all of the regulations that have been created around visitation of your loved ones. We have been looking forward to a time when we can facilitate visitation inside the facility again, and we are pleased to say that the time has come.
Recently Shasta County has moved back into the Red Tier! This means that we are no longer restricted from visitation inside the facility! This letter is to inform you that visitation resumed Wednesday the 3rd of March. This is extremely exciting news for all of us, however, we will still have the following requirements in place to ensure compliance with all CDPH and CMS regulations and infection prevention best practices.  Read More
Hello families!
It’s been an incredibly long year! Today as I hung these posters, it definitely brought tears. Not sad tears, but tears of joy that we can once again allow families in to our long term care facilities to see their loved ones! We are beyond thrilled for our residents as well. It has been a hard, tough year. One that I hope we do not ever have to live through again! Thank you all for your patience, your understanding, and your support through this COVID pandemic! Welcome back! - Marinda May, MMHD Social Worker

ACUTE Care Patient Visitation
MMHD will offer limited visiting hours from 3:00-6:00 pm for acute care patients. LTC residents (which includes the LTC holds on Station 1) will require all visitor arrangements need to be made through MMHD Social Worker.

Shasta County is fortunate to have many community providers who are helping give vaccines. The challenge here, and everywhere else in the state, continues to be supply. We have received about 31,035 doses so far, and we have used or distributed almost all of them. Our county has more than 14,000 licensed healthcare providers, 36,000 people over age 65, 7,000 food and agriculture workers, and 3,000 educators, plus all of the emergency services staff, skilled nursing facility staff/residents, laboratory workers and others who are eligible now. We are still well short of the number of vaccines we need for everyone in Phase 1A and 1B who wants to be vaccinated.

MMHD continues to take forms for the COVID Vaccine. We are ready to move into the agricultural tier, but continue to provide vaccinations for those in previous phases and tiers. If you are:
  • Over 65 years of Age
  • IHSS worker
  • Law Enforcement
  • Education
  • Emergency Services
  • Medical Dental Provider staff
  • Child Care
  • or any other in Phase 1A or Tier 1 on Phase 1B
If you are an agriculture worker - it is now your turn to be scheduled. Agriculture is prioritized in the following order:
  • Field-Nursery or Slaughterhouse Worker
  • Animal Agriculture
  • Veterinarian staff
  • Lumbermill worker
  • Logging
  • Agri-Chemical Worker
  • Other (Transport, etc.)
Complete this form and we will call you to schedule as vaccine is available to us.

We now have a form available in Spanish - please share

We will call you to schedule and appointment when we have vaccine availability. Please note that we are scheduling in the order the forms are received within the specific Tiers and Age groups.
