WHAT ABOUT VACCINATIONS?
We continue to get a lot of calls and questions about the COVID vaccine and its availability. We appreciate the questions and will relay information as soon as we have it. As of this week we have picked up 100 of our allotted first round 125 doses to be administered to healthcare workers. MMHD is also in the process of finalizing a program to provide our skilled nursing residents with vaccines. Consent forms to family point of contacts are being sent.

Since it will take several months to produce enough vaccinations for the U.S. population, the COVID-19 Vaccination Program requires a phased approach. Currently, Phase 1 prioritizes vaccines for acute care facilities and long-term health care facilities.
Shasta County Public Health is developing a “Vaccine Tree” for ShastaReady.org that will indicate when additional phases open up. It will include information on where/how each tier can get vaccinated.

Stay tuned, and thank you for your interest in protecting our community with vaccination. Regular updates will be featured in this weekly publication.
