Meet the Staff
Steve Sutton will chair our Participant Recruitment Committee.
He is a UK National having lived and worked in UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
While known in TAC circles as the District Chair of the Horizon District and a leader of Scout Ship 802, in his day job he works as a Group General Manager (Directorate) for a Group of private companies involved with the Construction sector in the Middle East and has lived in Bahrain for the last 15 years.
Steve has an extensive background in British Scouting, having held appointments at all levels of UK Scout Association from National Advisory Council and National Council level through Area (Council) District (District) and Group (Unit). He holds 6 different Wood Badges (Spanning 40 years!) for the various levels of appointments, including original residential Commissioners Wood Badge taken at Gilwell Park, London. He has qualified as a Scout Training Advisor and was the Area (Council) Manager of the activity permit scheme for all locations outside of the UK.
He is a Queens Scout- the highest Award in UK Scouting. In addition, he has achieved the Explorer Belt, Long Service Award, Award of Merit, and Commissioners Commendation Award through the British Scouting Organizations. He has served on the International Service Team, World Jamboree in Australia, was on Sub Camp Staff for the BSA National Jamboree in Fort AP Hill, Virginia, has attended dozens of Regional / International events and camps, and represented UK Scouting in the Europe- Arab Regional Councils.
We look forward to Steve giving leadership to our Participant Recruitment Committee, and the resulting overflow crowd at our camporee. All of us indirectly serve on Steve's committee to promote the event.
