Rene Payne will give leadership to our Messengers of Peace Dinner.
Rene became a Scouting dad when his son joined as a WEBELO in 2016. This was a beginning that then lead to service as a Den Leader and then Cubmaster. His first experience with the Normandy Camporee was in 2017, serving as a Troop Chaplain. After his son crossed over ro Scouts BSA, he I continued to serve as a member of the unit committee.
In May of 2019, he became BSA National Camp School Certified for Aquatics, and used that certification to serve as the Aquatics Director for Camp Avantura BSA. In that same year, he participated in the 100th anniversary of Wood Badge at Gilwell Park.He and his son were inducted into the Order of the Arrow earlier this year.
His love for the outdoors has Rene serving as Committee Chair for Troop 113 in Stuttgart, Germany where his son is a member, and as a member of the TAC Council Conservation Committee.
The Messengers of Peace Dinner will give all participants of the Normandy Camporee an opportunity to gather and 'break bread' together in the spirit of Scouting. We look forward to Rene's leadership to provide this key component of our camporee agenda.
