Meet the Staff
Michael G. Garst will serve as our Unit Camping Logistics Committee Chair.
Mike lived all across the Eastern and Central US as a youth (Illinois, Minnesota, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas). He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 140 in Lancaster, Texas in 1994. Mike was bestowed the Vigil Honor in Mikanakawa Lodge 101 of the Order of the Arrow as a youth in 1997. After joining the Air Force, he joined up with Transatlantic Council in 1998 in Ramstein, Germany.
Mike moved back to Germany in 2010, joining Transatlantic Council’s Edelweiss District. He now serves as Outdoor Program Chair for Troops for the District and as Achwon Woapolanne Chapter Advisor. Additionally he serves VFW Tower Post 10692 as the Charter Organization Representative for Grafenwoehr, Germany Pack and Troop 261 units.
He staffed many years at both summer and winter camps in Circle 10 and Transatlantic Council camps in his youth. In addition, he staffed the last Normandy Camporee in 2019 in coordination of the staff at Port’land Campgrounds.
When not Scouting, Mike works as a contractor for General Dynamics to the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Headquarters support team at Joint Multinational Simulation Center as a Senior Systems Engineer developing and solving IT issues for intelligence soldiers.
