It's July
and that is music to our ears!
“I drifted into a summer-nap under the hot shade of July, serenaded by a cicada lullaby, to drowsy-warm dreams of distant thunder.”

"My still life’s are created using mostly objects from nature, photographing the pieces, then returning the detritus back to nature. The period in time where a plant is between life and death, is when nature is at a point of departure. So, this series of photographs, “Beautiful Decay” was created".

Barbara Rudolph is an Arizona artist specializing in realism oil paintings that most often include a bird. Her painting backgrounds can be either realistic, or contemporary with design elements.
Often sprinkled with an element of humor, She takes time to photograph and place each object within the scene she paints.
“I enjoy getting absorbed in a new painting and letting it gradually reveal its own story”, she says. “The messages and symbolism in my work help to connect viewers to my subjects. I’m always thrilled when someone steps in for a closer look and responds with a laugh or smile.”
My natural tendency is to think in images rather than in words, and my paintings are expressions of those
thoughts. The foundation for my work is the intended concept, or idea, which derives from my unique perception of the world.
When a concept forms, I explore it for years by creating a series of paintings that result in concept expansion and nuanced meanings. The lexicon I use for expression includes not only the common morphemes such as the elements and principles of design, but also a hybrid vocabulary of unique and unusual combinations that support the concept.
Each series varies in duration and significance, and may occur simultaneously with another.
