Hello District 29!

This is the sixth in a series that compares Senator Shower with Candidate Massie.

Part 1 -- Part 2 -- Part 3 -- Part 4 -- Part 5

You Will Know Them by Their Fruit

God help us if an individual without integrity is elected.

Senator Shower

Sen Shower brings over 20 years of military experience to the legislature, retiring as a Lt Colonel and Squadron Commander. As a combat veteran he has command, operational, test, training, and joint staff experience around the world including in Europe, the Middle East, the Pacific theaters, as well as various domestic US assignments.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from the US Air Force Academy and a Master's in Business as well as a variety of military command, leadership and education programs.

He has 12 years of private sector experience working for FedEx as a commercial airline pilot and inside the state of Alaska for a small business.

In addition to these qualifications, he now has 5 years of experience as our state senator. He has the expertise, staff and knowledge to hit the ground running. He is the right person, at the right time, to best serve us in Juneau. His reputation, character, and integrity are beyond reproach. Now is not the time to replace him with a rookie freshmen legislator who brings none of these attributes or experience to the table.

Senator Shower's interview with former Trooper, Luis Nieves, on his podcast series called 'Heroes Without Capes' is here:

Candidate Massie

Disclaimer: Massie's mother is a long time Valley resident with a sterling reputation among republicans. This is no reflection on her.

As soon as candidate Massie filed for office phones began ringing with accusations of corruption. I am reporting here what is widely or publicly known. If more becomes public, I will share it when it surfaces.

Massie was a sergeant with the Alaska State Troopers, and the president of their union, PSEA. Massie was appointed to Director of Alaska Wildlife Troopers from the rank of Sergeant and promoted to Colonel, because you must be a Colonel to hold that position (in violation of the PSEA - there is a Non Disclosure Agreement in place).

Massie was next demoted from the rank of Colonel / Director of Alaska Wildlife Troopers by Commissioner Amanda Price for unprofessional misconduct. Historically, a director that is terminated would depart the agency. However, Massie had an exclusive contract that allowed him to retain his employment at his original rank of Sergeant, and was later reappointed to the position of Director of AWT with restoration to the rank of Colonel after Amanda Price was fired.

Massie was lastly forced to retire under internal scrutiny for his alleged interference in two AST criminal investigations (there is active litigation occurring). This is very well known among Troopers, and is alluded to in podcast episod #49 below.

Two links below are podcasts about Massie's reputation as an Alaska State Trooper. They are episodes 43 & 49 of a series called 'Heroes Without Capes' by a former Trooper, Luis Nieves, who discusses the good guys and the bad guys in the Trooper workforce. He is a whistle blower greatly respected and sometimes feared by Troopers. Listen to the end of each one, as there are intermittent comments.

I first listened to episode 41, because it establishes the background and character of the host of this series, Luis Nieves.

Note: There is foul language, and very sensitive (sometimes obscene) topics are discussed.

District 29 Donation
We are very short of our goal to help Senator Shower by communicating candidate differences to a wider audience on a post card. Unless there are huge donations next week we will have to either drastically modify or cancel this project.
We now have $810 toward our goal. We estimate $4500 to reach republicans only, and about $8000 to reach the widest audience possible, which is our preference.
We will continue our email series if issues pop up, and hope you will share the details with other voters in our district.

We cannot afford to replace our conservative senator with a moderate.

Quotes & Shower Supporters

Senator Shelley Hughes

Senate Majority Leader

April 2022 statement made in reference to work on sexual crime legislation:

"Senator Shower is not only an asset to our Mat-Su Delegation, but he is a consistent, reliable conservative vote in the Senate and a team player in the legislature. He's a tough guy when he needs to be - and that's usually the side the public sees - but he also knows how to get down to brass tacks and work through to consensus with House and Senate members in a reasonable way to get sensible items across the finish line. I'm proud to work with him. He's a great colleague."

Election Info

Rank the Red!

In the primary, we voted for one person.

The top 4 vote-getters will move on to the general election.

In the upcoming general election, you will rank up to 4 candidates.

The winning strategy is to 'Rank the Red'.

In other words, rank ALL republican candidates to ensure a republican victory.

Leaving any of them out will give the left / democrats an edge toward winning.

Note: Lisa Murkowski is a democrat.
