2023 In Review

A Time to Reflect and Plan for the Year Ahead

Greetings from Kigali!

As 2023 draws to a close, we want to reflect on what has turned out to be a phenomenal year of growth, successes, new collaborations and unforgettable memories for Travulous. Our company highlights for the past 12 months include operating two very successful Familiarisation trips in Rwanda, onboarding several new travel advisors, further strengthening our working relationships with our suppliers, and laying the foundations for our East African expansion program next year.

Taking full advantage of living in Kigali, we have personally travelled extensively in East Africa in 2023, staying in our beautiful partner accommodations dotted across the region. In our quest to film the best properties and curate exceptional travel experiences, we will embark on a further series of discovery expeditions throughout 2024. For us, there is nothing more rewarding than being able to share our unquenchable passion for the region, its wildlife, lands, and people.

We are brimming with excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead of us in 2024. Highlights will include the opening of our second regional office in Kampala including the appointment of new office staff, and the expansion of our team of specialist Driver Guides with new individuals joining us in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. To further bolster our company processes and client touchpoints next year, we are introducing a new CRM, Itinerary and Quotation System, in addition to launching a brand new Website and Agent Portal.

We could not have achieved our successes without your support and our hard-working team members. In celebration of these company milestones, we are showcasing below some of our proudest highlights from 2023. We feature interesting travel content ranging from our visits to iconic national parks, beautiful beaches dotted along the Swahili Coast and vibrant capital cities, to country comparisons, leading wildlife sanctuaries, and a selection of in-house videos showcasing some of our favourite properties across East Africa.

A big thank you, danke schön, murakoze, weebale and asante sana for being part of our journey. May the coming year be filled with happiness, good fortune and adventures for all of us.

FAMILIARISATION TRIPS

Accompanied by our specialist Tour Leader, Ian Redmond, and our Driver Guides Jean Marie and Guillaume, Travulous hosted a group of Travel Advisors who visited leading properties in Kigali, Akagera and Volcanoes National Park in November 2023.

Site inspections included Bisate, Five Volcanoes, Gorilla's Nest, Kwitonda Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, Akagera Game Lodge, Magashi, Ruzizi Tented Camp, Kigali Serena and The Retreat.

Rwanda's mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, Big Five and conservation initiatives will undoubtedly also be the highlights of our Familiarisation trips next year, so why not experience these for yourself?

If you belong to the Travel Trade and are interested in joining us in 2024 to learn more about Rwanda, sign up or log in to our Agent Portal to review the itinerary, including dates and prices.
