• Regionally/Pre-COVID:
5.5% growth in hospitality jobs 2014-2018

• Nationally/Post-COVID: Restaurants staffing levels remain nearly 2.5 million jobs below the pre-coronavirus peak.


After shedding 202,300 jobs between February and April, the Pittsburgh MSA regained 111,100 of those jobs through August. One-third of the employment shortfall is in Leisure and Hospitality sector – Allegheny Conference

Attention all OneStopPGH Customers
The City of Pittsburgh Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections (“PLI”) will have all staff trainings on October 8, 9, 15, and 16, 2020. At that time, PLI's main phone line and online chat feature will not be operational. In addition, PLI will have limited plan review and inspection services on those dates. Thank you for patience and understanding.
FINANCIAL
GOGO's Stats:

  • 54 Businesses accepted into round 2 of the program
  • 94.5% of those businesses are minority- and/or women-owned
  • 9 providers are working with these businesses, 5 of whom also worked with GOGO on the first round of the program.
  • 7 of the providers are from minority- and/or women-owned businesses
Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association raised over $250,000. and distributed 848 grants to hospitality workers displaced from their jobs. They seek to raise another $80 to enable opening a new round of grants soon.
ENFORCEMENT


ACHD COVID Field Response Team reported that 15 of 120 food facilities visited in Pittsburgh did not pass muster.

Top violation? Staff not wearing face coverings!



September 28-29 BLCE completed 188 COVID-19 compliance checks in Pittsburgh, resulting in 5 warnings and 2 violations.
