A More or Less Confusing Week.
What a ride this week has been. Monday brought the opportunity to expand to 50% occupancy; Tuesday the state was denied a request to delay enforcement of the ruling that found Governor Tom Wolf's pandemic shutdown orders unconstitutional. Wednesday House Bill 2513 passed which, if it is signed into law, will: allow minimum 50% occupancy with proper distancing, remove the meal with drink requirement, restore bar seating with barriers or distancing, and will permit non-contiguous extensions for alcohol licensees. (Read more below) Thursday Allegheny Health Department lifted their order, allowing you to sell food past 11pm. Hopefully we're on a roll and more good news is yet to come.

BAR SEATING COMEBACK?
HB2513

Not just yet, but maybe soon. HB2513 passed the house this week. Before it gets to the Governor's desk, the Senate will need to sign off. Governor Wolf has said he will veto the bill. If he does, the option for a veto override vote is a hail mary play that could get your customers belly up to the bar again in October.
Pa. House sends bill to governor's desk easing...

Patrons could once again belly up to the bar if this legislation were to become law. It allows for higher capacity limits in bars and taverns that Gov. Tom Wolf's orders permit. However, Wolf has signaled that he will veto this measure.
