Notes from the District

We are excited about the growth happening in SWL. With the excitement about the building project, we have decided to host an "Open House" on Wednesday, November 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the SWL Early Learning Center gymnasium. There will be quick presentations by the following individuals:

Mr. Robert Jennell- Superintendent of SWL- Discussing the scope of the project.

Garmann-Miller- Architects- Discussing past work and state requirements of the project.

Hill International- Owner-Operator- Discussing their role of representing the district and taxpayers of SWL in the building project.

Chuck Warner- Educational Planner- Discussing the different concepts SWL can consider moving forward and a timeline.

Ohio School Construction Commission- Funding Parter- Discussing their role and the requirements from the State of Ohio.

After these presentations are concluded, all of these individuals will be available to answer any questions you might have. There will be an opportunity to talk to board members as well after the presentations. We hope you are able to join us in this exciting time for our district as we plan for the future.

Staff Spotlight

Recognizing excellence in SWL

Congrats to our very own Mrs. Michele Hamilton, 3rd grade teacher at Pataskala Elementary, who has been named the Licking County Soil and Water Educator of the Year. She will be recognized on November 8th at a banquet and ceremony. Congrats to Mrs. Hamilton for her outstanding work!

Treasurer's Department

In the middle of November we will be sending fee statements home with students. Please make sure you address these statements in a timely manner.

You can pay these fees in three different ways:

1) Go online to https://www.spsezpay.com/SWL/login.aspx.

There is a convenience fee for using this. You do not need to wait for the statement to use this feature.

2) Send a check for the amount with your student to the school. Please include your student's name on the check.

3) Mail the check to the Treasurer's Office at SWL.

If you have questions about the fees for your student, please contact your student's building.

Food Service

Happy Fall! To Celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday, Food Service will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving Lunch on 11/16 in all buildings. To allow staff to prepare, we will be serving Donatos Pizza on Weds, November 15th in all buildings. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday!

We are soliciting feedback on our proposed

Additionally, we would like feedback on a slogan or phrase to put on the side of the gym of the Early Learning Center that faces Route 310. Please submit your ideas by clicking the following link: Click HERE

In order to more effectively communicate with our parents, we want to ensure that everyone has completed the Back to School Parent Portal. Notes were recently sent home for those who have not completed it. If you still need to complete the online registration, please click HERE

Thank you to all who have attended our district "Coffee Talks". Our next talk will be on November 29th at 10 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. at the Depot Street Coffeehouse in downtown Pataskala. We hope to see you there!
