Notes from the Principal:

Dear Families of Kirkersville Elementary,

The students and staff have been working very hard the first nine weeks. Students have begun to earn Brag Tags for doing great things. These Brag Tags will be kept from year to year and follow your student to the next grade. Brag Tags can be earned in a variety of ways including: meeting your MAP test or counting goal. We also will award Brag Tags for being a good friend and showing our PBIS character traits.

Our book fair will be open both conference nights November 9th and 14th, as well as the November 10th conference day. Students will also be able to buy during their library class November 13th through 16th.

How to help your student learn

Tips for Success!

Counting is an integral part of our Math Curriculum. You can do simple things like count stop signs as you are driving to help your student. First grade students could use nickels or dimes to work on their skip counting by 5 and 10.

Staff Spotlight

Staff Spotlight:

Mrs. Kennedy is the coordinator of Project MORE at Kirkersville. She works with local community members to set up a time to have them come to the school and be a mentor to our students. The mentor engages in reading lessons with the students at least one time per week. Mrs. Kennedy also helps with our PBIS team to establish a positive learning culture at Kirkersville Elementary.
