Revised Statewide Mask Order
Distance
Our library continues to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. The CDC recently issued new guidance regarding masks and their benefit to help prevent infected people from spreading the coronavirus to others. This new guidance cites a number of studies showing that masks reduce the risk of transmitting or catching the coronavirus by more than 70% in various instances. Click here to read more about this CDC research.

Our library is also following the revised mask order set forth by Governor Mike DeWine, which began in effect November 11. To read more about Governor DeWine's November 11 statewide address, click here.

All patrons and library staff visiting our library are required to wear a mask and practice safe social distancing. If you prefer, our library offers Curbside Services for our patrons. To begin using our Curbside Services, email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org or call us at (937) 667-3826.

Important Update on Libby for Windows
OverDrive recently announced that they would be discontinuing support for the Windows Libby app, which is the app that is available in the Windows store for use with Windows 10 computers. The Libby app will be removed from the Windows store on December 7, 2020. There is not an exact end date for support on Windows 10 computers, but our library wanted our patrons who use OverDrive on their PCs with Windows 10 operating systems to be aware of this change. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our library via email at info@tippcitylibrary.org or by phone at (937) 667-3826.
Events Planned for the Whole Family
Art Game in This Week's Take Home Pack
Back by popular demand, the Children’s Department has new activity packs available while supplies last. We know our youngest patrons miss the Creative Corner and special programming at the library, so we are bringing the fun to you at home through our Take-Home Activity Packs. These activities are located on the table in the Children’s area near the back entrance of our library. The packs range from craft projects with all of the materials included, to games to make and play at home, to activity sheets to keep children learning and creating. These activities are designed to give your child STEM learning, fine motor skills practice, and a chance to use their creativity.

NEW this week for pickup is a fun game that the whole family can enjoy that encourages artistic express and individual creativity. When playing this art game, begin by reading the simple directions included in the take-home kit aloud. Each family member will follow the directions by coloring on a grid of squares. When the game is finished, compare the finished pieces. Will they all look the same? You may find that even simple instructions are open to vastly different interpretation. Stop by and pick up this take-home kit near the rear entrance in the Children's area today!

Virtual Book Club
Catch up with our library's Virtual Book Club this week on our Facebook page. This week, we focus on A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.

A Man Called Ove follows the life of an angry old man named Ove. One day, a chatty young couple and their two daughters move in next door. The family grows to know Ove after they accidentally run over his mailbox. What follows this incident is a heartwarming tale and an unexpected friendship, all of which will change one cranky old man and a local residents' association to their very foundations. A Man Called Ove is a thoughtful exploration of the impact a life can have on countless others.
