Family Bathroom Construction Almost Complete
Last year, construction began in the Children's area on a new family bathroom. This new bathroom will be complete in about two weeks and will have some great features including no-touch sinks and paper towels, and a comfortable and private place for breastfeeding mothers. This new family bathroom would not be possible without the funds received from the Federal CARES Act grant. The new family bathroom is just one of the many improvements we've made since transitioning to curbside only service. We are welcoming the public to come see the new updates for themselves when the library tentatively reopens March 1 (subject to change, keep an eye on our Facebook page for the most current information.)

February Family Bingo at Home
There are so many great holidays, observances, and special events in February for kids to learn about. A fun way to teach them about these special days is to turn it into a Family Bingo game.
To win each square on our February Fun Bingo, a player must complete the task in the square. Some squares require players to look-up the answers to a question, others require players to complete a task. A quick version of the game is to play together as a family, with each family member getting one row of the card to complete, and see who gets their row done first for a Bingo. If you want to make the game last through the month of February, download one of the versions of the Bingo Card from the Children’s Program webpage. Look for the link in the “At-Home Activities” section. This will allow each family member to play their own Bingo card (all the eight cards have the same tasks, just in different squares). Who will be the first to get a coverall?
Need Some Ideas on What to Read Next?
Since you can’t come into the library to browse our displays and look at the new books, we’ve created some slideshows on the Children’s Program webpage to help you get some inspiration. If you’re hoping for some snowy days this winter, the Children’s webpage slide show is full of juvenile chapter books with snowy covers. Just click on the book cover picture in the slide show featured on the Children's Program webpage and you’ll be sent to the card catalog to place a hold on the book. New in books with images can be viewed at the bottom of the Children's Program webpage as well. Read like it’s Snowbody’s Business!

Virtual Book Club
Catch up with our library's Virtual Book Club this week on our Facebook page. This week, we focus on Passengers by Alexandra Bracken

Passenger follows Etta Spencer, a violin prodigy who, in one devastating night loses everything she knows and loves. Thrown into a world she does not know by a stranger with a dangerous plan, Etta is sure of one thing, she is not merely miles, but years from home. Etta meets Nicholas Carter, who is content with his life at sea where he is free from a powerful family, and the servitude he would face at their hands. All that changes when Etta arrives on his ship and becomes the pull of the past that he can’t escape. This powerful family is now after a stolen object which they believe only Etta can find.
Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey to keep the mysterious object out of the family’s grasp. As they get closer to the truth of their search, treacherous forces threaten to separate Etta from Nicholas and her path home forever.
