Also, readers who read at least 5 books will receive a coupon pack and completion badge. The coupon pack contains 5 coupons to use at area businesses. We are checking the registration list daily on Beanstack and writing participants names on snowflakes and posting these snowflakes in the back and front windows of our library--there is no need for patrons to contact us for raffle tickets or to get their names posted on the windows. We do ask that participants contact us when they reach the 5 book mark to ask for their coupon pack by emailing us at info@tippcitylibrary.org or calling us at (937) 667-3826. We will then write the participants name on an envelope and put it in a box at the back entrance. Raffle prize drawing will take place the first week in February and winners will be called by February 6.

To participate in the Winter Reading Challenge, log-in to your Beanstack account from last year’s Winter Reading Challenge or from the 2020 Summer Reading Program. If you are new to Beanstack, go to our library's webpage to open a Beanstack account by clicking on the Books Like Us Winter Reading Challenge banner.

Use the hashtag #WinterRead2021 on your social media accounts to tell us your reading progress or what you are reading. Beanstack awards our library extra points when our patrons use this hashtag. Our goal this year is to read 1,800 books as a community during the month of January. See the image below for our display case full of prizes!
Family Bathroom Construction Continues
Our library is experiencing more renovations! Recently, construction began in the Children's area on a new family bathroom. This new bathroom will be complete by the end of the year, and will have some great features including no-touch sinks and paper towels, and a comfortable and private place for breastfeeding mothers. This new family bathroom would not be possible without the funds received from the Federal CARES Act grant.
NEW Hands-Free Bottle Filling Installation Replaces Drinking Fountain
Our library received a federal CARES act grant and recently installed a water bottle filling station to replace our drinking fountain. This new hands-free water bottle filling station will be available for public usage once our building reopens to the public again, and is a great improvement to the facility, especially during the pandemic.
Play Boggle With Us!
Each day our library is open for Curbside Services during the month of January, we will display a different round of Boggle in our front windows facing Main Street. To play, find as many words as you can within the jumbled list of letters, then submit your words to info@tippcitylibrary.org. It's that simple!

Here are the rules of the game:
1. Find as many words as you can in 3 minutes.
2. Words can be spelled horizontally, vertically, diagonally, and to the left, right, up or down in a chain.
3. If two or more people who have submitted their words have the same word, that word will not count in your final word count.

A winner will be announced on our Facebook page each day. In order to win, you must have the most amount of correctly used words. Don't get too boggled!
Artwork Continues at the Library
Artwork continues on the double doors to our John K. Senseman Meeting Room in the basement of the library. Local artist, Rusty Harden, is sharing her talent with the community by painting an original art piece depicting the falls at the Miami County Park District's Charleston Falls Preserve to beautify the doors of the meeting room. This project is part of the  Alice Lee Lund funding for our large Meeting Room renovations.
