Caregiver Hub Updates
Caregiving can change your relationship with your family members, whether the person needing care is your parent, spouse, another relative, or an adult child. This change often brings up many issues and emotions. If you find that you are caregiving for elderly parents or other relatives, you may identify with the following challenges as outlined in the link below. Keep in mind that not all families experience all these issues, and not all families find these issues to be problematic. It is important to remember that everyone experiences caregiving differently.

Caregivers' Sharing
How can we break down barriers and humanize the caregiving process? Through the power of pure emotion, unlocked through music.

No matter what your musical background is, music used intentionally can be beneficial to improve health and well-being. Not only for the care recipient, but for you as well, as a caregiver.

In this episode we will hear how music enhances the care experience. Bev Foster, a co-founder of the Room 217 Foundation and its Executive Director shares her experience caring for her dad and also for her grandmother who journeyed through dementia. Bev incorporated music into his palliative care and found that it was a very helpful tool both for her father and for herself. So much so that Bev started a foundation to share music as a caregiving tool with other caregivers.

Would you like to share your stories or tips? You cannot imagine how much you could inspire or help another in the community! You are welcome to call us at 604-279-7099, or email caregivernavigator@rcrg.org.

The term eating pattern refers to what you eat and drink on a regular basis. In a healthy eating pattern, all the foods and drinks work together to:
  • help you feel good
