Late Arrivals must check in at the office. Children may go directly to class but a parent MUST come sign off on our morning check list.

Additionally, there is no parking/ drop off available by the office. Children are playing and sledding nearby- no cars please. Instead please park out front or by dumpsters and then walk to the office. Thank you for helping keep our campus safe!

Cancellations and Delays

Closures and delays may be posted on Facebook or sent out via email or group text, however Riley always follows RSU13 protocols, which can be found on News Center 6's website and TV Scroll, also through the link below.

School Closures

Power Outages

In the case of a power outage, Wade Acres children must be sent home. The Day School children can remain in session but we will encourage early pick up.

If there are outages but no cancellation notice you can check by calling 596-6405. If the answering machine does not pick up, we do not have power and have NO SCHOOL.

Riley Wishlists

The sap is rising and so are our spirits for the many spring endeavors ahead. Campus is buzzing with seasonal projects like sugaring, and exciting new friends like Rosie the Russian tortoise who is making a home in the Juniper classroom. And while it may seem hard to believe, before long we'll even be setting our attention towards seeds and hatching eggs!

With so much to get into and explore this time of year there's always a way for the Riley community to offer a helping hand. Did you know that Riley has wishlists that you (or grandparents!) can support anytime you want to help bring a little more magic to campus?

This is a wonderful way to offer support that follows after your own heart. Whether you're a bibliophile looking to expand the library or a pragmatist who's all about the proper tools- there's something small but meaningful on Riley's wishlists to perfectly suit your inclinations. Thank you for supporting Riley and its mission to support our children!

Did you know that YOU can use the Whims to announce events (a child's performance!), plans (a sledding party!), or ideas (a solo trip across the Atlantic in a hollowed out gourd!) to the whole school? Whether it's a new business venture or a family walk, if you want to share it we want to hear it. Send all announcements for the next Whims to Andi or Julie:

RILEY MISSION STATEMENT

The Riley School guides children to become independent, lifelong learners and innovative thinkers.

Founded as an intentionally small, Progressive, ungraded elementary school in 1972, Riley recognizes each child’s unique learning style. The innovative and personalized curriculum challenges children to express themselves and develop their own intellectual and creative capabilities through discovery, questioning and active engagement.

We foster a sense of responsibility towards our natural world, our community, and each other. We value cooperation and collaboration, while balancing the individual development of social, emotional and physical and academic growth.

At Riley we trust in children as learners. We honor and respect the uniqueness of the individual. We cherish and protect childhood.
