SECRET SECRET SANTA WEEK
December 13th through 17th
Spirit of Giving and Community

Greetings families,

There is a buzz in the air; decorations and twinkly trees, silly songs, slippery snow on the ground, sweet treats and preparations all creating a flurry of excitement and high energy and emotions on campus.

Please work with us to make sure your child is getting plenty of rest, simple nutritious meals and has appropriate warm layers and footwear ( for all ages) . I will welcome a call if anything outside the norm emerges as a challenge or emotion for your child.

Last Wednesday your child came home with a sheet providing them with information about who they have as a recipient of our weeklong Secret Santa tradition.(Remind them to keep it a secret ).

Each day your child will offer a small handmade gift to secretly deliver to their person. On Friday a slightly more elaborate, handmade gift should be wrapped and labeled with ONLY the recipients name. These will be distributed and opened with Santa after each child tries to guess who the secret elf gift giver was.

These gifts are meant to be simple and enjoyable to make, with a focus on the joy of giving. To help take the pressure off of you and the children, we have begun making simple and fun crafts in the classrooms and during Friday Activities which your children can put aside for their Secret Santa gifts if they choose. You can help by reminding them to deliver something everyday.. we will help by providing Santa's Workshop Stations at school.   We will continue to have this option next week for children who have forgotten to make a gift or wish to make something specific for their person. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to email me!

At 10:30 ish we will greet a special seasonal visitor !

Joining us on Friday?
You too may need snow pants as an extra layer to the gear that comes to school with your child. If it’s easier to keep a pair here, there is space in their cubbies for that. Also, gloves, hats, warm socks and insulated boots.

Pre-screening questions to consider
EVERY
school morning...
We are all tired of the screening questions but must still take them seriously.
The basics are still in place...
Your child must be NON- SYMPTOMATIC for a full 24 hours after any fever.
If it's “ just a sniffle” it might be allergies - BUT if symptoms do not respond to allergy medication, we still require a minimum of full 3 days out, with steady improvement seen, and NO discharge or cough as well as a doctor's note or a negative test.
We are seeing a lot of " sniffles" .... please be vigilant.

Thank you Megan for the amazing weekly treats for faculty.
