November 30 - December 6
Library Offers Curbside Services Only Starting December 1
The Tipp City Public Library has decided to physically closed its doors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30; however, our library is offering patrons to use our Curbside Services. Hours of operation for Curbside Services are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Curbside Services is located in the back entrance of our library. For your convenience, you can pull up to the building in the back alley (not even park), walk in the back door, find your last name on the hold shelf and leave with your items. The materials located in the back area of the library are already checked out to you.

If you want to see if we have a specific item on our shelves, or you want to request an item and are unsure of how to use our online catalog and reservation system, call our library at (937) 667-3826 and press 3 for the front desk or email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org with any questions. Patrons are also welcome to make requests on items directly from the catalog on our website by placing a hold from your mobile device or home computer. You will be notified via email or phone once the request is ready for pickup. Requests are available for pickup in the north (or rear) entrance of the library, in alphabetical order by last name.

If you do not have a library card, for your convenience, we offer an Online Card Application on our website. You must be 18 years or older to request a library card online.

While the front doors will continue to be locked, the front and rear drop boxes are available for any items that need to be returned. We will also continue to receive items from other libraries within our library consortium.

We will continue to adjust our services as needed to serve our community. And remember: our library is fine free, so you will not be penalized for returning library materials that may be late during this time.

Stay informed through our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram, along with our newsletter and website. If you have any questions, email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org or call the library at (937) 667-3826.

Hours for Curbside Services:
  • Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Upcoming Potential Internet Outage
On December 3 and 4 from midnight to 5 a.m., our library may have a potential internet outage. We are upgrading our internet lines and may experience potential outages at the library during this time. If you make use of our bandwidth or try accessing our online catalog after hours, please be aware of this potential outage. For questions, contact us at (937) 667-3826 or email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org.
Important Update on Libby for Windows
OverDrive recently announced that they would be discontinuing support for the Windows Libby app, which is the app that is available in the Windows store for use with Windows 10 computers. The Libby app will be removed from the Windows store on December 7, 2020. There is not an exact end date for support on Windows 10 computers, but our library wanted our patrons who use OverDrive on their PCs with Windows 10 operating systems to be aware of this change. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our library via email at info@tippcitylibrary.org or by phone at (937) 667-3826.
New Family Bathroom Installation Begins in Children's Area
Our library is experiencing more renovations! Recently, construction began in the Children's area on a new family bathroom. This new bathroom will be complete by the end of the year, and will have some great features including no-touch sinks and paper towels, and a comfortable and private place for breastfeeding mothers. This new family bathroom would not be possible without the funds received from the Federal CARES Act grant.
Artwork at the Library Continues
Artwork continues on the double doors to our John K. Senseman Meeting Room in the basement of the library. Local artist, Rusty Harden, is sharing her talent with the community by painting an original art piece depicting the falls at the Miami County Park District's Charleston Falls Preserve to beautify the doors of the meeting room. Stay connected with our library through our Facebook page or the newsletter to continue watching this amazing transformation! This project is part of the  Alice Lee Lund funding for our large Meeting Room renovations.

Upcoming Book Discussion
Virtual Book Club
Catch up with our library's Virtual Book Club this week on our Facebook page. This week, we focus on Wonder by R.J. Palacio.

Wonder follows the story of August Pullman, a young boy born with a facial difference that has prevented him from attending mainstream school. All of this is about to change when August starts attending fifth grade at Beecher Prep. Auggie wants nothing more than to be treated as a normal kid, but his classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. Wonder, alternating between the perspectives of Auggie, his classmates and family, converges in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion and acceptance.

You can find Wonder for download on one of our free online streaming services like Hoopla or Libby.
