Finadium has released a survey of securities lending agents conducted in February and March 2021. The report covers how the agency lending business has changed during COVID-19, technology objectives, newer routes to market, implications of GameStop-style trading and market perspectives for the next two years.

Last week we said that prime brokers could get their hedge fund and family office clients to use tri-party as a mechanism for guaranteeing that a fund would have enough assets on hand to meet its margin obligations. There’s more to it though to make a plan that works. There may also be better alternatives worth discussing.
