Greetings!

This work is really repairing the world, one village at a time.

Imagine the reaction of the people greeting a doctor from the neighboring municipal health center (30 minutes away by car) which, for the first time in history, has done house calls to check on the well-being of the indigenous inhabitants.

The project participants are enthusiastic regarding the possibility of positive change for the first time in their remote village. Taking the lessons imparted by our agricultural engineer, Federico Arriola Cuéllar, regarding how to build their greenhouses, instead of taking one month to complete this work, they completed the construction within one week!

The wood was located mostly in the wooded areas and extra boards around the houses of the participants in order to gain their participation and demonstrate their responsibility and dedication to the work. That which was not found was bought in Fray Bartolomé de las Casas by Sowing Opportunities, through grassroots donations.

To confirm, Federico is living with the people for the next two months. The people of the village asked to include corn and some other vegetables, such as chili pepper, arugula, cilantro, mint, and 8 to 10 other different plants. Because of his dedication and generosity, he is adding several days to his stay at no additional cost.
The photos show the delight of the participants with their work, knowing that they are gaining food in less than two months, which is impressive.
On Monday, April 4, 2022, Ricardo San José Roca will be in Chajmaic, delivering the seedlings that the participants have requested, thus beginning the next phase of the Sowing Opportunities greenhouse project. Incentives (additional plants) will be provided for well-built greenhouses, serving as motivation for all.

Please take a moment to see the recent webpages that describe the first week of Sowing Opportunities' pilot greenhouse project:

These are some of the seedlings that will be used for the greenhouses.
