Pride Month is celebrated every June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Riots. We’re getting ready to dust off our rainbow flags, douse ourselves in glitter, and go join in the fun. With parades, festivals, and concerts going on across the globe, there’s always some way for you to get involved — as well as learn some important social history along the way.
As a sub-holiday during Pride Month, Pride Day is celebrated on June 28. The day marks the date in history when the first pride march was held in New York City in 1970. However, different communities celebrate Pride Day on different days throughout June.

World Refugee Day will be celebrated on 20 June 2022, an international day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe. Every year it celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
World Refugee Day shines a light on the rights, needs and dreams of refugees, helping to mobilize political will and resources so refugees can not only survive but also thrive. While it is important to protect and improve the lives of refugees every single day, international days like World Refugee Day help to focus global attention on the plight of those fleeing conflict or persecution.

Two weeks ago, NJHSA held PowerNET 2022 in Minneapolis, MN where over 400 human service professionals and lay leaders came together to learn, share, and network with one another. This year's conference was full of content covering a myriad of topics ranging from addressing aging, youth mental health, diversity & equity, marketing, fundraising, board development, crisis response and the needs of refugees. BeWell: Building Resilience in the Jewish Community
The lack of well-being is the defining issue for young people today. The Jewish community is making emotional, social, and spiritual health a priority with BeWell, an ambitious partnership between Jewish Federations of North America and the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA). BeWell offers a comprehensive, system-wide response to today’s mental health crisis. We are equipping dozens of organizations and individuals with critical resources, evidence-based training, and innovative tools that draw on Jewish tradition, in partnership.

Supporting State and Community Innovations in Dementia-Specific Respite Programs and Services

The Administration on Aging (AoA), a division ACL is committed to expanding the availability of dementia-specific respite care in support of people living with dementia (of any age) and their caregivers. The successful cooperative agreement grant recipient will be expected to further the development and testing of innovations in community-based, dementia- specific respite models, as well as the delivery of training and technical assistance to advance the national capacity to provide such services to people living with dementia (of any age) and their caregivers.
