December 20-January 2

2022 Winter Reading Challenge
From January 1 to January 31, Tipp City Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Read for a Better World,” sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. We challenge our patrons to read at least 4 books each during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site by going to the library website and clicking on the banner on our homepage, or by downloading the Beanstack app to your mobile device. Thousands of other libraries and schools across the nation are joining in too, for a chance at winning prizes including book collections, signed books, and virtual author visits.

This year, participants have the options to complete some self-discovery discussion topics individually, or as a family. These discussion topics relate to a series of e-books by Lerner Publishing that you will be able to link to in the activity badges for this challenge and read anytime, on-demand.

As a reward to everyone who reads 4 books by January 21, 2022, the library will host an ice skating party at Hobart Arena in Troy on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Your skate rental will be paid for by the library (children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.)

We will also have some grand prizes you can enter to win on Beanstack for a raffle drawing on February 1. More details to come on the raffle prizes!

Happy reading, Tipp City!

Hoopla Binge Pass is Here
Hoopla Binge Pass is a new type of Hoopla instant borrow that gives library patrons unlimited access to select collections of streaming content for 7 days with a single borrow. It's a new way to explore online content and a lot of it! Binge Pass launches with the introduction of hoopla Magazines and The Great Courses Library Collection, and there’s a lot more coming in 2022!

If you have any questions about how to use hoopla or it's newest feature Binge Pass, please contact the Tipp City Library or reserve a 'bring your own device' spot by registering here.
Web Submissions Wanted
The Tipp City Public Library web archive, made possible by the Community Webs program at the Internet Archive, is looking for community input! We want to know what websites you think are important and should be preserved, These websites should relate to local history/daily life, Miami Valley history/daily life, and Ohio history. Submit your suggestions at this link and the teen librarian will evaluate your submission and send you a response within a week.
