Tipp City Library to Host Ice Cream Social Centennial Celebration

The Tipp City Library is so excited to be celebrating our 100th birthday this year! In celebration, we are inviting the public to our Ice Cream Social Centennial Celebration on June 12th from 5-7 p.m.. We will be shutting down Main Street between 2nd and 3rd street for the event. There will be complimentary pizza, ice cream sandwiches, live entertainment, a bounce house, t-shirts for sale, and lots of family fun. Join us for a night celebrating this momentous occasion!

2023 Summer Kick-Off Parking Lot Party is Today

Join us at the library on Monday, June 5 from 6:30-8:00 PM and help us welcome the start of the Summer Beanstack Reading Challenge and celebrate the UNITY in our Community!  There will be fun activities for all ages. The events will take place outside on the front sidewalk, in the alley, in the parking lot, and on 3rd Street.

Touch-a-Truck on Third Street, take a storybook walk with the Miami County Park District and get a free Kona Ice while you visit with over 15 community organizations that want to tell you what they have to offer you and your family.

There will be games for the kids and wandering entertainers with a small used book sale in the alley.  Make sure to stop at the Community Puzzle Table where you’ll color a puzzle piece that we will put together into a large work of art for the library.

Library staff will also be available to help you sign up your family for the summer reading challenge and explain how to use the Beanstack app to track your reading and participation in library activities.  If you prefer, you can pick up a paper logging sheet to log your reading this summer.

Thanks to our sponsors RegalRexnord, Greenville Federal, and the Friends of the Library for making the Summer Kick-off event possible.

Finding Freedom Summer Traveling Exhibit Comes to the Library

The Tipp City Library is proud to host the Finding Freedom Summer Traveling Exhibit. This exhibit was created by Miami University Libraries faculty and staff and handles topics such as the civil rights movement, racial injustice, and civil unrest. While the exhibit focuses on educating grade school students, the content is just as engaging and informative for adults as well. The exhibit is composed of twelve panels educating through documentary photography and tells the story of 800 volunteer college students registering black voters in Mississippi in 1964. The exhibit will be on display in the two front windows of the first floor of the library from April 24 - June 17. To schedule a tour, email info@tippcitylibrary.org or call the library at 937-667-3826.
