Executive Director David Singleton will retire on December 29, 2021. Since joining the library system in the summer of 2019, David has helped position Live Oak Public Libraries as a library of the future. Under his leadership, libraries have improved services, increased community outreach, and strengthened partnerships in Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty Counties. We wish David all the best in his retirement!

Need to print a few things before a meeting? Stop by your local library and connect with mobile printing! You can print a variety of file types in black and white or color. Using your phone or mobile device, send files to your library's mobile printing email address. After you receive a confirmation email, you can retrieve your prints. Standard printing fees apply.

Grant Funding for Community StoryWalks^®

Live Oak Public Libraries was awarded a $10,000 grant from International Paper’s Port Wentworth Mill and the International Paper Foundation. Funds will support the creation of StoryWalks® to be installed in local parks and public spaces in Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty Counties as well as portable StoryWalks® that can be transported to library outreach activities and community events.

StoryWalks® are family-friendly outdoor adventures in which pages of a children’s picture book are placed along a walking trail with corresponding activities for each page. These experiences are designed to increase literacy awareness and encourage physical activity.

Blast off with the James Webb Space Telescope Challenge! Read and explore fun learning activities. Complete the challenge and collect a prize at your library, while supplies last. Register and track progress via Beanstack.
