Happy Friday St. Louis Families!
We have had a full week of virtual and in-person learning—I am in awe of the creativity and innovative ways teachers have been concurrently instructing our K-8 students. It is always a blessing to observe the energy and beautiful smiles on students both on Zoom and in-person, even better is the engagement and collaboration happening between our “Zoomers” and our in-person learners. Technology worked much better this week for us, and we hope will continue to improve as we work with our IT company to resolve all issues. The highlight of our week was our annual “Walk for the Homeless” which allowed us to enjoy more outside time while reflecting on the different mysteries of faith and giving thanks for our blessings. A special thank you to all who made donations to United Community.
It is Hawktober, and our PTO sponsored annual 5K is right around the corner. Due to the pandemic, we have moved the 5K to a virtual competition and hope that families will choose to participate together as a great way to exercise and move more in the beautiful fall weather. Please see the information in this newsletter for registering—it is not too late! The race chairs, Laura Carlson and Tania Jones, have been working hard to organize this event, and we are grateful for their time and effort to still make this family event possible.
Friendship is our virtue this month. Students have had opportunities to explore the virtue in their classrooms, at recess, and from the saints who we celebrated this week—St. Paul of the Cross, St. John Paul II, and St. John of Capistrano—whether in class or by example, friends inspire and encourage us. St. Teresa of Avila says this about friendships, “What a great favor God does to those He places in the company of good people!” St. Louis is so blessed to have a faithful community full of good people who inspire and encourage one another daily! Thank you to our teachers, our families, and our clergy who actively seek to make our community one of friendships.
Please pray for one another, especially those who are struggling in some way during this pandemic.
I wish you all a blessed and peaceful weekend—
Anne M. Dyke
Principal

We have activities already on the calendar this fall, and would love to grow our troop.
