HMIS data fights COVID!
DHHS research project underway to support vaccinations
NC DHHS proposed a research project a couple months back to help fight COVID and it's about to formerly start!

Background
The NC DHHS has requested HMIS@NCCEH data to better understand and improve rates of vaccination among people experiencing homelessness. The integration of information from HMIS, COVID-19 Vaccine Management System, NC DHHS, CoCs, and homeless service agencies would allow service providers and NC DHHS to support successful vaccination of people experiencing homelessness in NC. This information then tracks the aggregate percentage of people experiencing homelessness who are vaccinated in each NC county.

Process & Approval
NC DHHS presented this project to the April HMIS@NCCEH Advisory Board (the governance committee for our system) meeting and was approved by members (which include CoC representatives).

For questions about the HMIS@NCCEH Advisory Board or this research project in particular, please contact Andrea Carey (andrea@ncceh.org) at the Data Center.
HMIS Paper Form & Assessment Updates
New versions beginning July 1st
Updated Assessments are available!

The Data Center updated HMIS intakes and the paper forms to match. We also support ted updates to NC ESG forms online. If you have any questions about the impact to your projects, don't hesitate to contact us at hmis@ncceh.org.
  • All Standard Projects have COVID-19 questions removed from Client Profile
  • All Standard Projects have County of Residence and City of Residence questions removed from Project Start/Intake assessment
  • Adding Current Living Situation to Standard ES and TH Projects

How to use CLS for ES and TH
For Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing Projects working with for Current Living Situation for the first time, there area couple key places we recommend for data entry:
  • Beginning now, enter at Project Start, Project Interims when CE Assessment is completed, Project Interims when CE Event is completed, Project Exit (if known)
  • By October 1, all active clients would then have at least one Current Living Situation confirmed
Reminders
HMIS@NCCEH is submitting ESG-CV grantee data on projects' behalf this week! If you haven't yet, run your ESG-CAPER to check for accurate and complete data this year!

If you have questions about data collection from clients, reporting, or anything else HMIS related, please reach out to us at helpdesk!
