David Thomas Trailways Moves PA Task Force 
A fleet of local first responders who spent over two weeks aiding recovery efforts at the site of a condo collapse in Surfside, Florida returned home on Friday.  Checkout the video from Fox 29 News. Great work!

Bailey Coach Recognizes Long-time Employees 
In a July 12th social media post, PBA member Bailey Coach stated "Today we are proud to recognize 13 of our staff members who have a combined service of 182 years of employment with Bailey Family of Companies. Rounding out to an average of 14 years between them all. Thank you for all your years of service!"
Klein Resumes 7 Day Service to New York City 
Klein Transportation is excited to announce that beginning Tuesday, July 20, 2021, their service to New York City will return to a 7 day a week schedule. "We have been monitoring our current weekend ridership and customer requests" said Alison Klein Sherman. "We are happy to be able to offer daily service again to better meet the needs of the community."

CERTS Grant IRS Taxability Information from BUSBooks, LLC

PBA All-Member Coffee Talk Held July 8th
Thank you to the members who joined us for our All-Member Coffee Talk. For those who didn't attend, we shared news about our 100th Anniversary celebration coming up in 2023. We have a planning committee forming and six special logos we have asked members to vote on.  In addition, we announced registration for the 2022 Marketplace in Williamsport will open during the PBA Annual Meeting & Conference in October. A special discount code will be provided to all attendees.

Wolf Announces Over $15 Million in Green Light-Go Grant Funds to Improve Traffic Safety
Governor Tom Wolf announced that 50 municipalities will receive over $15.6 million to support traffic signal upgrades, increasing mobility and efficiency across Pennsylvania's communities through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT's) "Green Light-Go" program.  Read more... 
PennDOT, Republicans at War Over Proposed Bridge Tolls
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation isn't backing down on efforts to charge tolls to fund the replacement of nine bridges.
And that has angered Republicans, who say PennDOT won't consider alternatives or wait for Congress and the Biden administration to approve more federal money for roads and bridges. Read more...

Beginning February 7, 2022, entities that intend to provide entry-level driver training for commercial drivers must be registered and listed on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry (TPR).  Get more information.
Work Zone Safety - Pennsylvania
Work zones present many challenges for trucks and buses - narrow lanes, sudden stops, traffic pattern shifts, and uneven road surfaces require all drivers to stay alert. In fact, large trucks are over represented in work zone crashes, making up nearly one-third of fatal work zone crashes. It's critical that all road users approach work zones with caution and do their part to keep the road safe for everyone.  This flyer discusses work zone safety in Pennsylvania.
Work Search Requirements Resume for Pennsylvanians Receiving Unemployment Benefits
Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) Secretary Jennifer Berrier reminded Pennsylvanians receiving unemployment benefits that work search requirements resumed the week of July 11.  Because claimants always file for benefits the week after they are unemployed, individuals will start certifying they looked for work beginning July 18.  Read more...
Canada Eases Restrictions on Travel From the United States
Canada has begun the long-awaited process of easing restrictions on travel from the United States. As of July 5, Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can bypass the country's 14-day quarantine requirement that's been in effect since the coronavirus pandemic was first declared back in March 2020.  Read more...
