Storybook Walks Presented by Miami County Park District
Our library is pleased to host the Miami County Park District for a series of Storybook Walks in front of our library. Families are invited to stroll past the storybook panels in our garden beds in the front of our library and read a nature-related story together. You will receive a gemstone and an activity card from a Miami County Park District member to continue your nature investigating at home.

The Storybook Walks will be between 5:30-7:30 p.m. with the following titles:
  • June 16- If You Find a Rock
  • June 30- Little Cloud
  • July 7- Be Nice to Spiders
  • July 21- Mason Meets a Mason Bee

As in past summers, the Summer Nature Quest will again be offered, but as a virtual learning experience. If you are interested in doing nature discovery at home beyond our Storybook Walks, simply register on the  Miami County Park District  website in the Programs section by searching for “Summer Nature Quest." The storybook offerings are recorded on the  Miami County Park District Facebook  page for you to enjoy, followed by suggested activities to do at home. Don’t forget to fill our your Quest Nature Journal for each book viewed. These can be picked up at our Storybook Walks, or you can print them at home by clicking here .  Prizes are earned once you complete 5, 10, 15, and 20 video books!
Go on a Science Adventure with ScienceTellers
Don't miss your chance to view the ScienceTellers video on our website on the  Children program web page to earn Beanstack points toward your Virtual Program badge. You will have fun learning about science as you go on a fantastical adventure with dragons and an Ice Sorceress!

A long time ago, in a faraway land, two brave villagers went on a daring journey to release the dragons and save the kingdom from an evil Ice Sorceress. When things do not go as planned, viewers might need to look to themselves — and to science — for the answer! You won't want to miss this fun fantasy adventure for the whole family that features storytelling mixed with science AND awesome dry ice experiments as special effects!

Click the link on the  Children  program tab on our  website  now through July 31 to access the virtual program. You will also find links to activities to download to extend the learning at home before and after the program. View the video to gain points toward the Virtual Programming Badge in Beanstack.
