Meet Carmel Foster Families

"My biggest fear is...the idea we may get to love a child deeply and have to say goodbye...I would rather us go through the loss of having to say goodbye to a child than for that child to have never experienced the gift of our love and security for a season...ultimately it is about the child and not us."

This month, we seek to "take up the cause of the fatherless" (Isaiah 1:17) and be the hands and feet of Christ to the 600+ kids in Mecklenburg County foster care.

Tomorrow, November 18 from 7:00 - 8:30pm, Congregations for Kids will host an online info session where you can learn more about becoming a licensed foster parent through a course tailored specifically to the faith community. Click here for details and to register.

Carmel will help CFK host an appreciation event for foster and adoptive parents, as well as DSS social workers, on campus Tuesday, December 1 from 5:00-7:00pm. Volunteers are needed. Details and sign up here.

This month's Storehouse parent resource is all about mental and emotional health. Each ministry will be hosting a parent discussion via Zoom with an expert from our Carmel Counseling Center. Details here.

Women's Ministry to Launch Mentor Program in 2021

Growing Together is a NEW mentoring opportunity for Carmel Women designed to encourage meaningful conversations centered around God's Word. We'll pilot Mentoring Groups this spring and are praying for women leaders interested in intentional discipleship. Praise for team work! Volunteers gathered safely at Carmel last week to prep "Celebrate Advent" bags for NEW Carmel families.

Advent means "coming" and is a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of Jesus' birth.
