Events Planned for the Whole Family

Fall Storytime Schedule

The Fall Session #1 of storytime will run from September 19- October 20. Sign-up for this session will begin on Monday, September 12 at 10:00 AM on the Children’s Program page of our website, or call the library at 937-667-3826.  You will be signing up for the entire 5-week session.

Baby Cuddle Time for 6-18-month-old children and a caregiver will be on Mondays from 10:30-11:00 a.m. with Miss Heidi in the Children’s area in front of the window. Enjoy songs, rhymes, and board books together with your babies and young toddlers. Learn easy activities to do with your baby at home to develop early literacy skills and spend time at the end of class socializing.

Toddler Tales is on Wednesday mornings and there will be two times to choose from- 9:30-10:15 AM or 10:30-11:15 AM. This storytime is for children 18 mos.- 3-½ years old and an adult guardian (parents, grandparents, or caregivers welcome). Tots will enjoy playtime for the first 15 minutes of class and then join the storytime circle with Miss Heidi for stories, songs, and music. The class concludes with an easy craft to develop toddler’s fine motor skills. This class meets in the meeting room downstairs.

Preschool Storytime is on Thursday mornings from 10:15-11:15 AM. Children should wait until after they reach 42 months to join preschool storytime. Get your preschooler ready for kindergarten with Miss Julie as she leads children in stories, singing, games, writing, and arts and crafts. Preschoolers will also practice making friends and following instructions. This class meets in the Meeting Room downstairs.

September Family Nights 

There will be two Family Nights this month on Tuesday, September 13, and September 27 from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Meeting Room downstairs. No registration is required, however children ages 2-11 years should be accompanied by an adult.


On September 13 come and enjoy our Popcorn Olympics! There will be several games to play with your family that involve popcorn, and of course, you’ll get to eat some popcorn also.

Art Spark Returns September 22nd 

Join Miss Julie in the Meeting Room on Thursday, September 22 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. to explore different styles of art and different artists using a variety of art materials.  For 3rd-8th graders. 

 

This month’s project will focus on the art of Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese contemporary artist who is often called the “princess of polka dots.”


Registration is required and can be done by calling the Main Desk at 937-667-3826 or going to the Children’s Program tab on our website.  Registration begins Sept. 6.


Upcoming Programs for 6th-12th Grade Youth

Calling all 6-12th Grade Library Lovers!

Our Teen Advisory Group (T.A.G.) is looking for new members for this school year who would like to volunteer at the library, help organize programs and contests for 11-17 year olds, and advise Miss Heidi and Miss Jeri on the needs and wants of this age group.


Join us for our organizational meeting on Thursday, September 15 from 4:30-5:30 PM in the Teen Den downstairs for TREAT FOR TEENS and find out what’s to come for Teens at the library.



Teen Tinker Lab Crafting

We’re bringing out the Perler Beads so you can have some fun after school making earrings and keychains and backpack tags in the Teen Den from Sept. 12-30.  We’ll supply the materials, you supply the creativity.
