✡︎ Shalom, Good Shabbos, and L'Shana Tova, Friends ✡︎
This week's Torah portion, Nitzavim-Vayelech, Deuteronomy 29:9–31:30, contains life-affirming, Torah-based fundamentals. No, it doesn't say that pre-born babies can be brutally slaughtered for personal ambition, considered non-human, discarded waste. It does say that all Jews stand united through a personal recognition and allegiance to one God whose blessings flow from holy choices that support the gift of life and curses follow evil choices that deny the gift of life. Because God understands human weakness and our propensity to deny the Creator and reject holiness, Moses reassures his flock that forgiveness and redemption will ultimately come to their decendants. Let us all prepare for this Sabbath and for the New Year with prayers for the safe passage of all unborn children from their mother's womb into the arms of loving fathers. Let us anticipate a time when every heart and mind knows the enduring presence of God, the powerful force that compels us to choose life no matter the sacrifice or cost.
During the latter part of August, I went on an extended networking trip to Las Vegas, Nevada for a RenewAmerica Summit and to Casper, Wyoming for a pro-life luncheon to which I was invited by our friend, Ross Schriftman. I drove across the country using my personal finances to let pro-life conservatives know about the Jewish Pro-Life Foundation and to let them know that Judaism is the original pro-life religion, not the baby killing cult that is portrayed in the media and by the majority of Jewish influencers. Our friend, Moshe ben Avraham, met me at the Ls Vegas event. He enthusiastically acted as our public relations liaison, handing out many of our business cards and networking with a wide variety of speakers. We were warmly welcomed by the Christian attendees we met at both venues. I'm happy to be home and following up with the contacts we made on the trip.
The current issue of the Casper Area Pro Life community newsletter features a picture of me and one of Ross.

We launched a billboard campaign in August! Our test campaign is located in Pittsburgh PA because the friend who sponsored this first campaign lives here and was able to negotiate a reasonable price with the local billboard company. The messages appear on the digital billboard in rotation.
We created a GiveSendGo fundraiser to accept donations so that we can expand our billboard campaign into other markets across the USA.
Please share the url to the fundraiser.

As we mentioned in a previous newsletter, PA's new Jewish governor, Josh Shapiro, cut a long standing 5 million dollar allocation to Real Alternatives from the 2024 budget. Real Alternatives supports many pregnancy care resource centers around PA, serving many women and families across the commonwealth. The 5 million dollars will be given to abortion services, instead.
Josh Shapiro made much of his Jewish belief and practice when he was inaugurated, saying that he plans to keep the Sabbath and install Mezzuahs in the governor's residence. Once again, a high profile Jewish politician shows the world that Judaism is a baby killing cult and a religion that doesn't support women, children, and families. Our billboard is an attempt to show the public another view.

Our friend, Ken Salkover, gave us permission to share a letter he sent in 2020 to Rebecca Schwab, a local Chicago Jewish leader, regarding an award she gave to a Jewish pro-abortion activist. We appreciate Ken's letter and encourage our readers to follow suit in their own communities. Thank you, Ken. | |
The story, to which Ken responded, can be read at

Here is Ken's letter, which Schwab didn't respond to and apparently didn't appreciate:
Hi Rebecca and happy Thursday,
I was very disappointed to read your profile of Leah Greenblum. Obviously she's hardly alone in being a pro-choice Jewish woman. That describes all my female relatives. What distinguishes Leah is her active participation in the abortion of innocent children; and her justification of same in Jewish law and thought.
I understand abortion is an emotionally charged issue, especially within our Jewish community, and you may have no interest in what I have to say. Let me make two quick points, please:
1. The concept that abortion on demand has any basis in halacha is categorically false; and
2. There is diversity of thought regarding abortion within the Jewish community. Even among Millennials like yourself, there are pro-life Jews.
Judaism's gift to the world was and is the revolutionary idea that life is precious; and that every human is unique and made in the image of God. Chanukah was our victory over the Ancient Greeks, who wanted us to adopt their pagan ways. They allowed imperfect children to die of exposure. Is aborting six of seven Downs Syndrome babies in America much different? I don't think so. As much as Leah believes abortion is a women's and mental health issue, even she would concede most abortions in America are for convenience or financial reasons. There are organizations in America and Israel that help pregnant women with financial problems so they can say no to abortion.
Every business day in America, innocent children are aborted because they have siblings; they have Downs Syndrome; or they are girls. The toll on our own Jewish community is 35,000 aborted babies per year. That's attendance for a typical Cubs game. To me, that's unconscionable and brings me to tears. With God's help, that will change soon.
Thank you.

The New Threat to Abortion Access in the US - The Comstock Act
Our friend, Dr. Eric Braverman, sent us this article authored by I. Glenn Cohen, JD, a Harvard trained Jewish lawyer who is concerned about threats to legal child slaughter rather than threats to pre-born babies and human flourishing.
Dr. Braverman emphasizes the role of the father in abortion decisions, that fathers need to be informed of their unborn children and be given responsibility for parenting them, and he also advises us on the medical complications from chemical abortion. Dr, Braverman welcomes questions and comments at his email pathmedical@gmail.com
