Now Available: 2020 Dane County Land Use Inventory

After a multiyear effort, CARPC and Dane County have completed the Dane County 2020 Land Use Inventory. The data is available for viewing on the CARPC Dane County Land Use Inventory web map and for download on the CARPC Open Data Portal.

CARPC Partners with UW, Communities on Local Code Assessment

As part of our work to implement the 2050 Regional Development Framework, CARPC is partnering with communities and the UW-Madison Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture to assess local zoning and subdivision ordinances for consistency with the Framework, local comprehensive plans, and best practices.

Climate Action

Climate Asset Map

With support from the Midwest Big Data Innovation Hub, the Midwest Climate Collaborative is developing a Climate Asset Map. Anyone involved in climate work is invited to take a 15-minute survey to help identify how the map can best suit the needs of users.

2023 Midwest Climate Summit

Registration is open for the 2023 Midwest Climate Collaborative! The Summit will take place both virtually and in person at Washington University in St. Louis on February 21-23, 2023. In keeping with the theme of Uniting the Region for Action, any organization, institution, industry, or agency looking to work with others on climate mitigation and adaptation, centered around equity and justice, is invited to attend.

Commission Activities

Welcome, Commissioner Richson!

The Dane County Towns Association appointed Cynthia Richson to the Commission last month to complete the term of former Commissioner Mark Geller. Commissioner Richson currently serves as Chair of the Town of Middleton. She is an attorney with an MBA from UW-Madison and more than 25 years of experience that includes working with businesses, boards, and government entities.

NOVEMBER 10 COMMISSION MEETING SUMMARY

Passed a resolution recognizing Mark Geller for his service and contribution


Received a presentation on the Dane County Farmland Preservation Plan update


Received an informational presentation from 350 Madison

Approved bringing the WI Salt Wise program and associated staff position into CARPC


Adopted the 2023 CARPC Work Program
