Bag Your Trash

Our current solid waste vendor is making some changes to the way they collect your household trash and recycling!

It's important to bag all of your trash and place it inside your trash can. Recyclables are to be placed inside of their designated toter. Items placed around the trash receptacle and recycling toters will not be picked up.

Bulk item pickup and yard debris pickups are not changing. Continue to leave "bulk" items curbside, 3 feet away from any obstruction (mailbox, vehicle, cable box, etc.), for pickups as usual. This change only applies to household garbage and recycling.

We are committed to keeping Perry clean and beautiful! Please help us do so by bagging your trash!

FAQ's

Perry Begins Automated School Zone Speed Enforcement

The Perry Police Department will begin automated school zone enforcement in designated areas beginning August 1 using cameras.

Visible signage is installed at Tucker Elementary, Morningside Elementary, Mossy Creek Middle, and Perry High warning drivers the school zones are enforced by cameras. The cameras will operate during school zone hours posted on the street. Cameras at Perry Middle and Matt Arthur Elementary will be installed soon.

"We have high hopes that Automated Enforcement will encourage drivers to slow down and obey the law,” Interim Police Chief Alan Everidge said. “Traffic fatalities are the number one cause of death for children aged 5-14 and for young adults (aged 15-29). Very minimal reductions in speed make the roads a lot safer, especially for children.”

Sewer Project Update

The City is beginning work on the Perry Branch Gravity Sewer Upgrades project, extending from Tucker Road to Kings Chapel Road along Perry Branch.

The project includes the installation of a new gravity sewer pipeline parallel to the existing sewer within easements on private property.

The project's purpose is to abandon an approximately 50-year-old dilapidated sewer pipeline and install a new, larger gravity sewer. This is needed to reduce infiltration and inflow within the wastewater system.

Construction will conclude in June 2023.

Any concerns and/or questions regarding the project are to be emailed to burke.murph@gwesllc.com and chad.mcmurrian@perry-ga.gov.
