Ribbon Cutting Held for new Infill Development Downtown

A ribbon cutting was held during Food Truck Friday, July 15 for The Commodore Building on Commerce St. in Downtown Perry.

The three loft units on top are complete and will open soon as short-term rentals (Airbnbs).

Kinetic by Windstream Brings Fiber to Perry

Representatives from Kinetic by Windstream, the City of Perry, and Perry Area Chamber of Commerce gathered for a ribbon cutting last week where Windstream announced its new high-speed fiber internet service to the fast-growing Perry.
Community Development
The City of Perry's Community Development Department issued 51 new single-family home building permits in June bringing the total for the year to 215. Additional phases for new homes were approved for Lake Forest and Sadie Heights subdivisions.

New subdivisions approved for the building were Highland Park at Sugarloaf (off Perry Parkway in front of Sugarloaf) and Sugar Creek of Langston Road.

Mavis Tire is ready for permitting at 1804 Houston Lake Road, an outparcel by the Publix Shopping Center. Construction is under way at Skweeky Kleen Carwash #2 on Plaza Connector Drive. Interior demolition has begun at 1309 Main St. where the VA clinic will be located.

Zaxby's is under construction on Perry Parkway beside Wendy's.

Data Shows Perry's Publix is a
Top Performer in Sales

Data from Placer Ai, a mobile analytics platform company, shows the Publix on Perry Parkway ranks in the top 85% in sales compared to other Publix stores nationally. The Perry Parkway Publix is ranked at No. 175 in sales out of 1,238 Publix stores in the United States. According to Retail Strategies, Perry's trade area population is 92,000.

"We expect to see even more commercial development to Perry Parkway, based on this data, and we are excited about it," Ashley Hardin, CEcD.
