Hadassah and NCJW Team Up to Kill Babies

✡︎ Shalom and Good Day, Friends ✡︎

We've been thinking a lot recently of how to motivate more Orthodox women and men to oppose the abortion rights movement instigated and operated by secular Jews at the National Council of Jewish Women. Though it is widely believed that Orthodox communities remain shielded from this existential threat to Yiddishkeit, the sad reality is that in Orthodox communities, 'nuanced' reasons for abortion beyond the rare exception to save the mother's life, are gaining adherents. One reason, we believe, is the convenience of abortion pill access, which circumvents obtaining permission from a rabbi. The other is the slow, steady exposure to baby killing propaganda from Jewish organizations and their media like Hadassah and its Magazine.

Many Orthodox women support Hadassah, which provides Jewish abortion activists an effective infiltration point into Orthodox Jewish communities. Here is a link to Hadassah Foundation's Policy statement on Reproductive Choice:

Recently, a friend sent us her concerns about articles favoring abortion she'd seen in Hadassah Magazine.

The trouble with Hadassah

http://miriamsideas.blogspot.com/2007/10/trouble-with-hadassah.html

An emerging collaborative effort between the NCJW and Hadassah exposes the malicious intention of Hadassah to encourage and enable Jewish women to commit the tragic and irreparable error of destroying their children, far beyond the infrequent leniencies granted when a mother's life is in peril. And let us keep in mind that because we now have humane, safe methods that can remove the baby from the uterus, rarely does a child have to die a brutal death to save the mother's life.

If you don't have access to Facebook, I've pasted the text of the post below.

Please share this newsletter with your Orthodox friends and other members of Hadassah to warn them about Hadassah's war on Jewish babies, women and families. Then contact the leadership at Hadassah and its Magazine to educate them on the tragic human rights abuses of millions of babies painfully killed in abortion, the humane and merciful medical interventions available that save both mother and child when medical crises occur, pregnancy care resources like In Shifra's Arms that meet the needs of pregnant Jewish women, and the frequent but unpublicized life threatening emergencies and long term harm done to women during and after surgical and chemical abortion. You may also want to add that Jewish calls for unlimited legal abortion of infants up to and after birth recalls past accusations of the blood libel, putting all Jews in great danger of anti-semitic attacks.

Please scroll down to watch Dr. Ben Carson's speech at the Celebrate Life Banquet, for blogs and memes to share here and in Israel, to let us know if you'd like to join us at the March for Life in Washington DC on 1/20/23, and to let us know if you are interested in working part time at the JPLF as an admin assistant or a translator. Thank you.

Cecily

May there be abundant peace from Heaven, and good life upon us and upon all Israel. Amen.

Join Hadassah Chicago-North Shore, National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) Chicago North Shore, and NCJW South Cook on October 20 at 7 pm CT/8 pm ET as we present a virtual event about maintaining abortion rights in Illinois and the status of abortion rights across the country.

Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg will provide a Jewish perspective on reproductive justice. Illinois State Senator Melinda Bush will discuss the Illinois Reproductive Health Act signed into law in 2019, a movement she led. Lorie Chaiten, Senior Staff Attorney with the national ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project, will discuss the implications and complications from the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe. The program will be moderated by Andi Friedman, an attorney and advocate with extensive ties in the field of reproductive health. Find out what is happening and what YOU can do to make a difference.

This virtual event is FREE and open to everyone! Register by October 18 here: hadassahmidwest.org/CNSadvocacy

Questions? Contact cns@hadassah.org or 847.205.1900.

Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg serves as Scholar in Residence at NCJW. Before her ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, she worked as a freelance writer, and in the years since has served as rabbi and educator at Tufts and Northwestern Universities. Rabbi Ruttenberg leads the Rabbis for Repro initiative of NCJW, Inc. She is an award-winning author and writer. Her newest book is On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World.

State Senator Melinda Bush has served in the Illinois Senate since 2013. Bush has been a steadfast advocate of protecting a woman’s right to choose. She championed a law in 2017 that ensures Illinois women would still have access to safe and legal abortions should the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade. She also led the monumental 2019 Reproductive Health Act, which repealed outdated abortion laws that have been blocked by the courts.

Lorie Chaiten is a Senior Staff attorney at the Reproductive Freedom Project at the national ACLU, where she focuses on litigating challenges to unlawful abortion bans and other restrictions. Throughout her 37-year legal career, she has concentrated her work on reproductive rights litigation and advocacy.

Andrea (Andi) Friedman is an advocate working with partners across the country to shift the conversation on abortion, build power and advance access to self-managed medication abortion. She is a lawyer and advocate with extensive experience in the reproductive health, rights and justice movement.
