Elevator Upgrades

Events Planned for the Whole Family

March Family Night-Tuesday March 14

We’re going green for St. Patrick’s Day! Join Ms. Julie and Ms. Heidi from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Meeting Room for a fun night of games, crafts, and snacks inspired by the color green. These activities are appropriate for children aged 3 years and up and fun for grown-ups too!

Kids Contest

Stop in the Children’s area between March 6-18 to hunt for the lucky shamrocks.  Fill out the contest sheet and return it to the Check-out Desk to win a small surprise!

Creative Corner-March 6-18

We’re welcoming Spring by learning about the butterfly life cycle with a paper plate craft and making butterfly masks. Stop in anytime during regular building hours to participate in the Children’s area at the Creative Corner tables.

Spring Break Events for Elementary Kids at the Library

Join us at the library during your spring break (March 27-31) for some fun!


Tuesday, March 28 from 2:30-4:00 PM there will be a Lego Party for youth in grades K-5. We’ll try some Lego challenges, make Hexbug mazes, and have time to build whatever you feel inspired to make to put on display in the Children’s area. No registration is required.


Thursday, March 30 from 10:30-11:30 AM youth in grades 3-8 can register to join Miss Julie for Art Spark. Get in touch with your inner artist and learn more about Klecksography. You’ll make ink blots with paint and then turn them into art with markers. Registration begins March 6 on the Children’s Programs webpage.

Teen Contest - March 1-17

Follow the rainbows to find the pot of gold hidden by leprechauns in the Teen Den.  See if you have the luck of the Irish to find your hidden treasure!


Sewing Saturdays

Join Jeri Goins, the Teen Librarian Assistant, one Saturday a month to sew. This program will be open to youth in grades 4-12. All skill levels are welcome to learn basic hand sewing and embroidery techniques, how to use a sewing machine, and how to build a project.


This month we will meet March 18 from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Meeting Room to create a rainbow-themed sewing project. You can choose between hand sewing and machine sewing to create your very own rainbow.

Tinker Lab - March 18-31

Stop by the teen den to make a cool holder for your phone – or whatever else you want to prop up! Use our washi tape and accessories to make a decorative stand to hold your phone while you relax.

Teen Art Therapy March 21 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Join Ms. Jeri and youth in grades 6-12  to de-stress with some painting! Try different Art Therapy techniques that will help you create calmness as well as a keepsake to take home. We will be painting, so make sure you wear something that you can get messy in.  No registration is required, just come to the Meeting Room downstairs.


I Love Gaming: Teen Video Game Day

Come play video games on the giant screen in the meeting room on Friday, March 24 from 3:30-5:30 PM. Help us break in the library’s new Nintendo Switch and have some fun challenging your friends! Bring your personal Nintendo Switch from home so more people can get in on the fun. There will be snacks and drinks and various video game competitions. For youth in grades 6-12.

Create a Wildlife Habitat on your own property! It is easier than you think!! By adding native plants, food, water, cover and places to raise young to our yards and gardens, we provide needed wildlife resources and create healthy ecosystems for wildlife and people. Learn how to certify your yard through the National Wildlife Federation certification program.

Overdue for a Brew: Women & the Past, Present, & Future of Beer

Join us for a fun and educational beer tasting as beer writer David Nilsen talks about the past, present, and future of women in the brewing world for Women's History Month.

Since ancient times, women have had a major role in brewing beer. While the majority of today's craft brewers are male, at many points in history women were the primary brewers. Journey with Staley Mill Farm and Indian Creek Distillery proprietor Missy Duer to experience the heritage of her family, the Staleys, and the history of the distilling operation that originated over 150 years ago. Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

March 23

Compete in a jigsaw puzzle competition with the Tipp City Public Library, Topsy Turvy Toys and Tipp-Monroe Community Services! The Tipp City Senior Center will host the event and everyone is welcome to compete. Bring your team of up to four people to see if you can complete the puzzle in the shortest amount of time.
