NOV 3 - Almighty God, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States in the election of officials and representatives; that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. NC Region Resource Update
STAY TUNED! Farmers to Families Food Box Program may be continuing: The USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program is a project funded through the Families First Coronavirus Relief act in which the USDA contracts with regional distributors to purchase product from U.S. farmers and distribute pre-packed food boxes to food insecure individuals through local organizations. There were major distribution efforts in Sept and Oct. More opportunities may be coming. Keep an eye out here.

The Temporary Rental Housing Assistance Program (TRHAP) is now available to RENTERS in CT who are struggling to pay their rent due to the impact of COVID-19. If you are in need of rental assistance, call 860-785-3111 to see if you qualify for TRHAP. For more information, click here, also available in Spanish.
BOOT PARTY UPDATE: As some of you have inquired about Footwear With Care, during this time of COVID The Footwear with Care Winter Boot Party will be a “remote” party. Footwear With Care is making arrangements to meet guests on the street and at food pantries this year to provide boots and some supplies. Be Inspired Dance Poetry Music
11/07 Ekklesia: Dance and Dialogue performance series are a way for our community to engage with the art of dance to explore central issues that are plaguing our society such as mental illness, climate change, and human inequality. Dance allows us an entry point to the humanity of these issues and to discuss ways that we might heal together. Click here to register. Starts at 5:30 PM.

NC Clergy Coffee Hour is Back! 3-4 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. This is an informal, no stress, come as you are invitation to gather as a region clergy group. 12/08 - NC Region Wardens Gathering from 6-7 PM. This upcoming program year will be like no other. Join with other wardens from the region to share best practices, lean on each other's learning, share opportunities for connection and collaboration, and wonder together what God is up to in our world today.
Racial Healing, Justice & Reconciliation
11/07 - Racial Healing, Justice, and Reconciliation Network Gathering from 11 AM - 2 PM. We'll spend time in prayer, and share how we're living into our work together in our fight against systemic racism, white supremacy, and anti-Black bias. We'll also talk about how we can begin to live into the comprehensive resolution we offered to Convention: Acknowledging & Confronting Systemic Racism, White Supremacy, & Anti-Black Bias. Finally, we’ll spend time talking about how we might focus our efforts in 2021. We’re also excited to announce that one of ECCT’s newly ordained deacons, Shancia Jarrett, will be sharing the research she has done on redlining in New Haven. Register here.

11/10 - Saint John’s West Hartford: Anti-Racism Parenting Group, 9:00 pm on Zoom, St. John's will be hosting a monthly parenting discussion group on raising antiracist children. Each month, we will have short preparation work— think a podcast or a documentary. We will gather at 9pm in Zoom (after the children are asleep) and talk for an hour or less. The hope of this group is that we will learn together, practice what we have learned in our families and schools, and then do it all again the next month. Contact Margie@sjparish.net for details.

7 Week Course (began 10/06) Next meeting 11/3, 11/10, and 11/17 @ 6:30 PM - Join the Companions in Mission Ministry Network as they journey through the Way of Love in Global Mission, a seven week opportunity to network, learn, reflect, and converse with some of the leading voices in Global Mission across The Episcopal Church. 11/10 - St James, Farmington & the Spiritual Life Center present a year on Christian Spiritual Practices. Part of walking the way of Jesus and truly living the Christian life means drawing forever closer to the Divine presence. In our busy lives, however, finding new, creative, AND practical ways to live the Christian life and engage in our spiritual journey (we are all on one, by the way) can be very challenging indeed. Nov. 10 from 6:30– 8:30 pm will focus on Lectio Divina. Members from the region are invited to join in via Zoom, here.
11/12 - Parenting in the Wilderness: moves to monthly! A Sacred Space for Connection & Fun (2nd Thurs. of the month at 9:00 am.)ECCT invites you into a sacred space of compassion, grace, and fun, hoping to provide some support and fellowship to those of us struggling to make it all work, as we care for children. Gather with clergy and lay facilitators to hold one another up. Join Zoom conversations here! Please be sure your name in your Zoom “square” displays your name & your parish affiliation, so that we can safely be in conversation. 11/14 - Worship Leader Training: How to lead Morning Prayer from 10 AM - 12 PM. Our Book of Common Prayer includes the wonderful service of Morning Prayer, one of our Daily Offices. This short service for the start of each day and can be used by individuals in their homes or by congregations in parishes. Designed to be led by clergy or laity, Morning Prayer may be offered by lay leaders in a parish on those occasions when a priest cannot be present to preside at the Eucharist. In this workshop participants will experience the beauty of Morning Prayer and learn how to lead it. Click here for info & registration.
11/18 - Discerning My Path, Info Sessions from 7-8 PM: This is a course ECCT is developing in collaboration with other dioceses in Province I and Bexley Seabury Seminary. This course invites participants into a time of deep listening, practice of ancient and modern spiritual disciplines, and offering and receiving insight regarding individual gifts and passions — all within a brave/safe circle of trust. In addition to monthly online meetings in small groups, participants will engage spiritual reading, videos and articles on discernment, spiritual practices, and the ministry of the baptized. This opportunity is open to all the baptized in ECCT. Scholarships and grants are available. More details, here.
11/18 - Leading Out of Crisis from 6:30 -7:30 PM : All rectors, wardens, and parish leaders are invited to join Tim Hodapp for an information session about a new initiative designed by The Missional Network and available to all ECCT parishes and Worshipping Communities. Leading Out of Crisis is a resource that provides clergy and lay leaders a way to begin to name your new normal through discovering God’s Together, we connect our experiences in this strange time, name God’s activity among us, and discern a way forward for our parish. For written work, please keep it under 600 words, submitted in a Word Doc, preferred.
Safe Church Training Fall 2020: All ECCT Safe Church Training (SCT) includes an online course followed by a 3-hour live session on Zoom. New online courses are designed to reflect whether you have previously participated in SCT, whether you currently have oversight responsibilities for events, programs or others engaged in ministry, and ministerial roles. More information and registration available here.
