Adult Tutors Needed
Our library is proud to announce a new partnership with the Brunner Literacy Center (BLC) to bring tutoring for adults in Tipp City. The BLC provides flexible learning opportunities to meet the individual needs of adult students in pursuit of their personal or professional education. The tutoring sessions can take place in-person at our library or held virtually. In particular, we are looking for tutors who would be willing to work with immigrants learning English. Tutors must be 19 or older who are ready to support another adult on an educational journey. No prior teaching experience is required, as the BLC will provide free tutor orientation and guidance. If interested, email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org or call us during our hours of operation at (937) 667-3826. This collaboration is sponsored by the Tipp City Foundation grant program.
Make a Face Shield with Materials from Our Makerspace
Try an alternative (or in addition) to paper or fabric masks and make a DIY face shield at our Makerspace in the basement of the library. All of the supplies and instructions to make the face shield are in our Makerspace, and the cost for the supplies is $2 per face shield. You can also watch the Facebook Live video on our Facebook page with our Teen Services Librarian CD DeWit (posted on June 27) for a tutorial on how to make your own face shield. If you have any questions, email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org or call us during our hours of operation at (937) 667-3826. Come into our library and try it today!

Upcoming Book Discussion
Virtual Book Club
Catch up with our library's Virtual Book Club this week on our  Facebook page . This week, we focus on The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer. Set in both 1942 and 2019, The Things We Cannot Say follows Alina Dziak and her granddaughter Alice. When Alina is sent to the hospital, a box containing memories from her past is unearthed. When Alina hears these items have been found, she begs Alice to go to Poland and find out what happened to the people who these items belonged to. The Things We Cannot Say is an unshakable reminder of the devastation when truth is silenced, and how it can take a lifetime to find our voice before we learn to trust it. You can find  The Things We Cannot Say for download on one of our free online streaming services like Hoopla or  Libby .
