Board Member and Fiscal Officer Sworn in for 2020
During the January library board meeting, the Fiscal Officer, Asha Vyas, was sworn in, along with library board member, Patrick Reese, by Tipp City School Board Vice-President Joellen Heatherly.
Patrick Reese takes the oath in anticipation of a second, seven-year term as a Tipp City Public Library Board member.
Asha Vyas takes the oath for another year as Tipp City Public Library Fiscal Officer.

As we reach the final week of the 2020 Winter Read Challenge, we are excited to announce some new raffle prizes. If you have been putting your raffle tickets in the boxes for a particular prize you would like to win, keep up the good work!

This is a continuation of part of a 6-week series that introduces fundamental yoga breathing, postures, alignment and core muscle engagement to support your lifelong yoga practice. Events Planned for the Whole Family
Creative Corner - Pipe Cleaner Sculptures
February 3-8

Visit the Creative Corner in the Children’s Area and turn some play-dough, pipe cleaners, and other art supplies that we’ll provide into a sculpture. Take your masterpiece home to share with your family.
Winter Story Time Sessions Begin February 5
The children's winter session storytimes begin the week of February 3 and continue through the first week in March. Online registration for this winter session is available starting Monday, January 27. Register here .

Baby Cuddle Time is for children ages 6-18 months, along with a caregiver, and is held on Thursday mornings from 10-10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Area.

Toddler Tales is for children ages 18-40 months, along with a caregiver, and is held on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:15 a.m. or 10:30-11:15 a.m in the Meeting Room downstairs.  

Preschool Story Hour is for children ages 3½-5 years and is held on Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Meeting Room downstairs. The registration for the winter session is now full; however, look for a new Preschool Story Hour session opening in March.
Art Experiences for Homeschoolers
The Youth Department is excited to partner with the Tipp City Area Arts Council to offer Art Experiences for Homeschoolers.  For the next three months, homeschool students in grades 3-7 are offered an in-depth, hands-on art program at our library that explores a particular artist and their works. The students also have the opportunity to create their own art piece based on a famous piece of art from the artist-of-the-month. Art materials for this program are covered by a grant from the Tipp City Area Arts Council. Visit the Children’s Program tab on our website for details on each month’s artist and also to register for the program. The first Art Experiences for Homeschoolers session is held on Friday, February 7 from 1:30-3 p.m. Thanks to Tipp City Area Arts Council for their support on this program.
Family Resource Calendar Now Available
The State Library of Ohio, in collaboration with Ohio Ready to Read, is pleased to offer the Day By Day Ohio Family Literacy Calendar, and all of the resources on the Day By Day Ohio website , to promote family literacy and family engagement across Ohio. The resource was developed as a new tool for parents, caregivers and educators of young children and offers a perpetual calendar with monthly themes that highlight videos, suggested books, songs and activities for each day. In addition, information about family health and wellness, literacy and creativity, and ideas for exploring Ohio are easily accessible on the website.

Day by Day Ohio is a service of the  State Library of Ohio  and is funded in part by the  U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services .
Family STEM Night - Light and Shadows

Explore science on the dark side! Learn about shadows through stories and hands-on activities. This event is for children ages 4 years and up with a parent or guardian. No registration is required.
Kids Valentines Contest
February 10-15 

Come into the Children’s Area and search for the hidden hearts! If you find the hearts, you may choose a sweet treat at the front desk. This activity is for children ages 3-11.

Girls Who Code - Spring Session
Tipp City Public Library's Girls Who Code Club's spring session starts February 3! If you've signed up, come to the meeting room at 4 p.m. and bring your laptop, if you have one.
