In This Issue

In an effort to ensure that Schoology is being used properly throughout the building, Rabbi Bitton & Mr. Harris will set themselves up in the lunch room during 6th period  on Monday and  Thursday next week, which is the 9th grade lunch time, to allow students to come to them with any issues they may have.

An email to the 9th graders will be sent as well, but if you feel that your son may not know how to navigate the Schoology system, please remind him that Rabbi Bitton & Mr. Harris will be available next week during their lunch times.

The goal is that by the time we come back from Sukkot break every student will be using Schoology for each of their classes.
Our  Welcome Back Shabbaton (now for all grades)  will be held Thursday night, October 11 until Motzaei Shabbat,
October 13.

We will be enjoying such activities as Aquatopia Water Park (which we'll have all to ourselves!), sports, tournaments, a meaningful Shabbat at Camp Kaylie, hiking and more!

TABC Keeps Torah Learning
Going All Summer
Although often students are known to run away from school in the summer, many TABC students were excited to participate in numerous educational school programs throughout summer vacation. Members of the TABC  faculty were particularly pleased
to see so many students and alumni attend a Thursday night mishmar program in August. The program was initiated by Head of School, Rabbi Asher Yablok, as an attempt to teach students about teshuva during the month of Elul despite the fact that formal school year would only begin a few days before Rosh Hashana. In addition to a loud kol Torah in the Beit Midrash, students enjoyed reuniting with friends and rebbeim after returning from their respective summer programs. Cholent and kugel were served later in the evening in order to enhance the experience.

There was also wonderful digital learning going on throughout the summer. Initiated by two TABC juniors, a WhatsApp group was launched to the broader TABC community. Each day, a Halacha shiur was posted by Rabbi Yoni Mandelstam allowing students, parents, alumni, and other members of the TABC community to stay connected to TABC Torah throughout the summer. Shiurim were also posted by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yosef Adler, Head of School Rabbi Asher Yablok, Judaic Studies Principal Rabbi Ezra Wiener, Rabbi Chaim Jachter, Rabbi Ben Krinsky, and Rabbi Raphi Mandelstam. TABC faculty were truly amazed by the high number of students who listened to the shiurim as well as the questions that were sent in over the course of the summer.

For the first time, TABC was proud to provide a Tisha B'Av program open to all high school boys to help students connect to the Kinnot. TABC rebbeim led the Kinnot with in-depth introductions to make them meaningful for the high school student. The students found the program to be inspiring and truly connected to Tisha B'Av on a deeper level due to their participation.

College Guidance and College Visits Begin
Even though school has just begun, the College Guidance Department is fully geared up.  Various colleges have begun to meet with our seniors.  This week seniors heard from Yeshiva University, Yale University and Johns Hopkins University.   Between now and the middle of November almost twenty-five different college representatives will meet with the TABC seniors.  Over the course of that time the seniors and some juniors will meet with Ivy League schools, private universities, as well as city and state universities.  The seniors have also begun to meet with both Dr. Garry Katz and Dr. Elliot Prager, with many students already working on their college essays and applications.  Please click here for a list of upcoming college visits.
Kol Torah has New Website
We are very exited to announce that Kol Torah, our weekly compilation of divrei Torah which is delivered to dozens of shuls and schools across the country, has a brand new website.

Rabbi Jachter Speaks at Rutgers
and Reunites with Alumni
On Thursday evening Rabbi Jachter addressed a large group of students at the Rutgers Hillel.  His shiur on "Why Hashem Does Not Perform Open Miracles in Every Generation" was very well-received.  Rabbi Jachter had an opportunity to connect with more than a dozen TABC alumni who joined the shiur. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect our alumni on campus with our talented cadre of rebbeim.
