Don't Text and Drive
With the New Year 2020 came a new law into effect: If you’re getting behind the wheel, don’t text and drive. Warnings were being issued up until December 31, 2019. The grace period is now over, as texting while driving is a primary offense and law enforcement officers will start issuing tickets to drivers caught texting while driving . Hands-free use of a phone like using Bluetooth speakers on a call and for navigation purposes is still allowed, except in a school or construction zone.
Recycle your Holiday Tree
The City of Coral Gables continues to offer free Christmas tree recycling collection for Coral Gables residents who live in single-family homes. Residents living in multi-family homes (condos or apartments) can also recycle their trees by bringing them to a drop-off area at the War Memorial Youth Center until January 17.
