Virtual Book Club
Catch up with our library's Virtual Book Club this week on our library's Facebook page. This week, we focus on the novel Becoming by Michelle Obama.

Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is described by the author as a deeply personal life experience. This memoir follows her through her childhood in Chicago, to her years as an executive, a mother, and first lady at the White House. With unerring honesty, Michelle describes her triumphs and her disappointments, and tells her full story as she has lived it, in her own words and on her own terms.

You can find Becoming for download on one of our free online streaming services like Hoopla or Libby.

Tips to Help Teens Cope During COVID-19
Many parents, teachers and even librarians are struggling to reach teens during this time. For many of us, but especially teens, it seems it is often difficult to look beyond the pandemic and realize that somehow, there will be a time in the future that will be much better than our current "normal." Instead of focusing on the current situation, ask teens, "When you’re finally able to celebrate, what would you want it to look like?" Encourage them to create collages, vision boards and written plans so they have something they can look forward to, even if it’s different from what they originally pictured. The flyer below has some helpful tips to help teens cope during COVID-19. Visit Mental Health First Aid's website for more information.
