Congratulations to These Talented Artists

Hailey McCollum (3C), Emery Nichols (3G) and Nikki Carr (6th)!

Their artwork was chosen to hang in the OCDE 1,000 pieces of Art Exhibit at South Coast Plaza in May! This exhibition showcased student artwork juried by the county's top art educators and professional artists! 1,000 Pieces of Art is an exceptional display of student artwork chosen from over 4,000 entries county wide (k-high school).

Further Congratulations to Emery Nichols whose artwork will then travel to the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts to be on display this summer in the 2018 Festival of the Arts Junior Exhibit! Stop by the Festival (located next to the Pageant of the Masters) to see her work this summer!!
Pause - A Night of Worship & Reflection

We want to congratulate the 8th grade ASB students and all 8th grade volunteers who helped create the PAUSE worship night.  The students raised $3,574 through ticket sales, dessert & art sold at the event, and donations given towards the fund for the new cross in the auditorium.  Aside from the money that was raised, it was an incredible night of worship and gratitude to God for how He has worked in our 8th graders' lives throughout their time at MCS.

Daily Pilot Cup Review
MCS Silver Team. Thank you for sharing this photo Mrs. Jeffers.
Wow, what a week of soccer!!! A huge shout out to our awesome kids (over 150) who played their hearts out. When it was said and done, MCS continued its long tradition of sending teams deep into the tournament. Although we did not bring home a cup, our kids made lasting memories of playing with friends in this great community tradition.

Those that made it out to the games saw some incredible plays and beautiful teamwork. I was so proud to see our kids, playing a game they love with honor and pride representing Christ and our school in such a positive way. By the way, our sidelines were awesome!

This tournament WOULD NOT be possible if not for the amazing volunteer coaches who dedicated these last 3 weeks preparing the kids for the games.

YWAM Host Homes Needed
Host homes are needed this summer for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) students. If you are interested, please contact Carrie Olson at [email protected]

Accommodations don't need to be fancy - floors, couches, or air mattresses are great! Hosting begins July 1 and ends July 21. 21 Project staff and participants will be kept very busy so you won't need to entertain or provide any transportation. For more information please visit www.21project.com and scroll to the very bottom of the page to find our easy host home application.

This summer YWAM is holding a missionary training school at Vanguard University called 21 Project. Participants will mostly be college students from around the country who are wanting to be trained to be campus missionaries back to their school. They are coming eager to be trained in how to live more like Jesus and to reach the lost and hurting at their university. Most staff are current full-time missionaries with YWAM. Your guests will bring amazing stories of salvations and healings as they share what God is doing in our nation and the countries of the earth. They will be sure to fill you with faith and hope for who God is!
