We’re generally positive on blockchain-inspired solutions for collateral, securities lending and repo, but they’ve been slow to gain traction in part because existing platforms are also pretty efficient. In Asia however, a different starting point and multiple currencies may mean that a pan-Asian collateral basket traded as a stablecoin or token could help the region leapfrog in deepening market liquidity.
