Evening of the Arts
TABC's annual Evening of the Arts took place Tuesday, May 14th. When guests arrived, they were treated to an art gallery featuring student works created under the guidance of art teacher Mrs. Helen Shankman. Afterwards, everyone gathered in the Beit Knesset for the performance part of the evening, emceed by senior Netzach Schuman and junior Daniel Rothstein. The program consisted of original and scripted scenes, a film created by junior Charles Gibber, and a musical performance by the TABC Band. Thank you to Mrs. Rebecca Lopkin for organizing a spectacular event!

TABC Joins with Members of IDF
in 21st Century Style Siyum
The TABC student body joined with members of Tzahal over FaceTime on Thursday to make a siyum on Masechet Brachot. Over the last several weeks, each shiur at TABC covered two dapim of Brachot while the Combat Engineering Unit, הנדסה קרבית, covered the rest.

S'gan Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Daniel Fridman addressed the students before the siyum, explaining how chayalim epitomize the spirit of Yehoshua Bin Nun in that they fight a war of mitzvah while simultaneously engaged in the learning of Torah.

Following the conclusion of the masechet, the students and soldiers broke out in spirited song and dance. It was a fitting conclusion to the past week in which our school community has focused on the centrality of medinat Yisrael within Judaism in conjunction with the observance of Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha'atzmaut.

We extend a big thank you to Rabbis Fridman and Reichman for bringing this incredible initiative to TABC and, of course, to superstar Director of IT, Ken Harris for bringing it to life! Chazak chazak v'nitchazek!

Rabbi Grossman's Birthday
Baseball Game
Even though the original date was rained out, Rabbi Grossman's annual trip to Yankee stadium with students and staff was rescheduled to sunny Wednesday night.

It was a great success as 80 students and faculty members joined Rabbi Grossman to celebrate his special birthday and the fact that he will be returning to teach at TABC (after his Sabbatical) next year. The Yankees contributed to the celebration by beating the Orioles 3-1!
Y17 Shabbaton with Rabbi Berman
Y7 gathered together this past Shabbat for a shabbaton at Rabbi Berman's home in Teaneck. They began with a private minyan for Mincha led by Eli Saks and Kabbalat Shabbat led by Ei Blumenfeld. The group was thrilled to be joined by Head of School Rabbi Asher Yablok! The seudot, which were held at Rabbi Berman's house, were delicious and home cooked by Mrs. Berman. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie, laughter and zemirot. After seudah shlishit, local businessman, Mr. Doron Greenspan addressed the group and told an inspiring story about how each and every person is a teacher, teaching through their actions and persona conduct. His reminder that what one does and the example one sets can have ever-lasting effect, both for the negative and positive.
Annual Varsity Softball Shabbaton
is a Rousing Success
The annual Varsity Softball Shabbaton took place this past Shabbat in Englewood. The team had a wonderful time eating meals, singing zmirot, and playing board games together during down time. Divrei Torah were shared throughout Shabbat from Jacob Lerer '19, Eli Schloss '19, and Akiva Prager '20. The Shabbat ended with words from captain Aharon Tuchman '19 and a spirited Havdala led by Yonatan Katz '19. A special thanks to our very own Mr. (Coach) P and Mrs. P for their hospitality. The team finished 6-2 in the regular season and is currently awaiting the announcement of their first round playoff matchup. Stay tuned!
Junior College Night
This past Wednesday the College Guidance Department held its annual Spring College Fair for juniors and their parents.  The program began with brief presentations from all colleges in attendance and was followed by three round-robin sessions. This year's fair was attended by 23 colleges from as far north as Massachusetts, as far south Maryland, as far west as St. Louis, and as far east as Israel.  The schools that presented included: Princeton University, Bar-Ilan University, Binghamton University, Brandeis University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, City University of New York (Queens College, Baruch College, Hunter College, and the College of Staten Island), Rutgers University, Lander College for Men (Division of Touro College), University of Massachusetts Amherst, Washington University in St. Louis, Drexel University, Yeshiva University, Bergen Community College, Rockland Community College, and Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.  The night was informative and helpful to students and parents as they research colleges.
